Yogalicious happened earlier this morning. After a few busy Wednesdays and Saturdays I finally made it back to my new favorite vinyasa class.
How glorious was it to bike in warmer temps today! No crying occurred!
Yoga was just Ok today – not my very favorite class. I was feeling a bit sluggish too. But I did love the moment when we were all in forward bends with our butts in the air and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” came on. Several people laughed out loud!
By the time I biked back home at 1PM I was so leggin’ tired!
Fill me with nutrients!
Poor Girl’s Juice
- One $.99 cucumber (peeled of wax)
- Half a stalk of $1.99 organic celery
- One $.10 organic carrot
- One cheap lemon
It tasted good too!
On the side – a Flax Oat Bran bun with honey
And a small bowl of yogurt topped with jam, flax and toasted buckwheat
It’s a brewhouse around here today
Matt, Matt and Tiger are having fun
Purr!
Genny says
Wow it looks so good and so fun!
Jillian @ Reshape Your Life says
I love that glass!
And what a cute kitty!
Hilary says
Not sure if I could make myself drink that…but it sure does look healthy!
Melomeals: Vegan for $3.33 a Day says
haha.. your poor girls juice is almost my entire daily food budget. Juicing is so expensive..
foodandfarm says
Love it! I really want to learn how to juice! How do you feel about juicing fasts as a means of detox?
KathEats says
Ehh I don’t believe in detoxes. But I do believe juicing is nutritious.
Kelly (meatlesswithaman.blogspot.com) says
Can you talk a little bit more about your thoughts on detoxes, Kath? I’m just curious – I hear so much about them and get conflicting information.
KathEats says
My opinion is that we have a detoxifying organ: the liver. The last thing you want to do is starve the liver! That doesn’t mean I think we should all just eat junk and let the liver work for us, but I don’t think energy and nutrient deprivation (which most detoxes are) is the key to being healthy. Health isn’t about what you’re not putting in your body – it’s about what you ARE putting in. Rather than detox, tis better to focus on eating really healthy whole foods – lots of fruits, veggies, and nutrient-rich foods and perhaps cut out alcohol, sugar or other non-whole-food things you might eat regularly that don’t make you feel your best. If I were to “do a detox” I wouldn’t drink alcohol and might say no to desserts, but I think that people who eat well 90% of the time don’t need detoxes.
Rofomom @REAL life in Rofo says
Love, Love, Love your comments here! So well put.
Christine says
Thanks Kath, could not agree more!
Ella says
Amen!
Kelly (meatlesswithaman.blogspot.com) says
THANK YOU!!! I always appreciate your honesty and REALLY value your opinion since you’re an RD (which, by the way, was my original major… but I’m a speech language pathologist instead 🙂
Valerie @ City|Life|Eats says
Yay – question for you – I just got a juicer and was curious if you think about it as a meal add-on (like today) or if you drink it more as a post-workout snack?
KathEats says
I think it’s good as either. I used to only think of juice as a breakfast item, but I always need/want something more substantial for breakfast. I’ve been doing it more (well, twice 🙂 ) for lunch and really like it with lunch!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love drinking nutrients too, Kath 😉 P.s. that bun looks really yummy, what kind is it?
KathEats says
Matt made it
Jasmine @ Eat Move Write says
That glass is so darn cool! That cat seems to hang around a lot. Are you keeping it?
KathEats says
No I think he lives in one of the houses near us
AJ @ Flowing to Fifty says
Nothing like a little Marvin when your butts in the air and your hamstrings are screaming! 🙂

Marija-The Healthiest Habits says
Although everything looks fantastic, I loved the cereals most! They are definitely my favorites!
Marija-The Healthiest Habits says
…and by “cereals” I meant your yogurt with jam, flax and buckwheat! It’s all the same to me 😉
Lauren at Keep It Sweet says
Wonderful Saturday! I haven’t been to yoga in forever…. better get myself back before I forget everything.
Teresa (Teresa Tastes & Travels) says
I’m with you, Lauren. Miss it, need it, must find the time. 🙂
Ann @ Day by Day says
Yogurt with jam, flax, AND toasted buckwheat? Sounds like the perfect combination of flavors to me. Some sweet, some crunch, lots of texture. I’m about to go see if I can find any of those ingredients here…
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says
Your poor girls drink…love it
One reason I dont juice much anymore is that it does cost a fair amount to juice (if you save the pulp and make raw vegan pulp crackers and cookies that’s a bonus :)…but your juice looks great! And it’s cheap…the best kind of drink.
Enjoy your Sat p.m.!
Sarah says
So I saw the other day that you had a pumpkin beer, and I was wondering: were you holding onto it from the holidays or can you actually buy it now where you are? I can’t find pumpkin stuff now, but I had a Pumpkinhead Ale rimmed with cinnamon/sugar as my first drink-at-a-bar a few months ago, and it was duhluscious. It’s not important what I had after that… hah.
KathEats says
I hoard them in the fall so I can drink them in the spring 🙂
Kelly (meatlesswithaman.blogspot.com) says
i love those glasses – what a great idea. such pretty tulips, too. I’m ready to start seeing some in our yard!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I have had the laziest days with my kids. We have literally played games and watched movies on this rainy day. I managed to bake a few things in the meantime, but still…super lazy. I wish I had done some yoga today…I think the boys and I will do some tomorrow. Enjoy the night Kath!

KathEats says
It’s just chalkboard from Pier 1!
Baking 'n' Books says
Do you have a juicer? Nice color at least! You eat the bun with only honey? I always to need to add a nut butter or something – classic PB&J girl I guess 😉
Gosh those buns look so good. Can GH dish out the recipe? or send some up North please…:)
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says

Kat @ Cupcake Kat says

I just got a juicer with my new magic bullet and I have no idea what juices I should try making. Do you have any suggestions for where I can find some?

Everything looks great. Love the juice. I love lemon in mine too.
Stacy @ LoveDiscoveryGratitude says
I like taking one or two days a month to completely juice. It makes me feel rejuvenated, and for such a small amount of time it can’t be too bad. (i hope!) 🙂
dee says
i swear i could come by your blog just for the dishes, cups, and cute stuff you have for the kitchen alone! 😉
and well, the food too.
ps. i’m loving the spring feeling of the flowers you’ve been displaying lately. totally brightens the day!

Tiger is so cute! 😀
How did you toast the buckwheat? Just dry roasted in a pan over the stove for a few minutes? It sounds divine! 😀
xoxo
Kathleen
KathEats says
I bought it toasted in the WF bulk bins
Namaste Gurl says
I juiced today, too! It’s hard to keep up with a juicing, as it’s expensive and to be honest, a true pain in the butox 🙂
Christin@purplebirdblog says
You’ve just reminded me it’s been too long since I’ve had toasted buckwheat! 🙂
Emma says
YAY for poor girl’s drinkable nutrients!!! I am a poor college girl, desperate for cheap nutrients! thanks so much 🙂
Gina Dingman says
I am going to try this green drink!
Taylor (Delish World) says
I juiced this weekend too! It can get pricey so it def won’t be an everyday thing for me.
