Friday night of relaxing fun.
Friends. Food. Babies. Wine.
Local wine!!! And beer!
Faith rocked the dinner party
Appetizers, plus edamame and more!
Red. Simply Red.
Sarah, the Sugarleaf Petit Manseng was amazing!
Faith made an amazing dinner of Sweet Potato + Black Bean Enchiladas
I brought a spinach, goat cheese, berry and almond salad
Faith also made this amazing Cilantro Crema – with avocado, yogurt and cilantro. Ask her for the recipe!
I had seconds!
Arlie entertained! She’s so cute!
For dessert, I brought some cookies
Not just any cookies – a sample from Cookies & Corks of wine pairing cookies
With a whole chart of guidance!!
We tasted them with a Chard and a port
I didn’t think the pairings were off, but they just seemed like normal cookies and wine to me. Although I did think the savory pairing of Sage + Apricot was pretty awesome.
We are home and settled. Ready for bed!

Those enchiladas sound amazing! I like the idea of the salad; it always sounds so good, but then when I try goat cheese my whole face just puckers at the afterbite. I feel like such a pansy! Haha. Need to develop my palate 😉 Faith always looks so hospitable in all your photos — just a lovely friendly face 🙂 What a perfect Friday night!

It is one of two that we got for our wedding. It’s one of those things that I never would have chosen myself but really like! Especially with the added sentimental value. 🙂
Christine says
I love the expression on the baby in the first picture- it looks like she’s very concerned about the wine 🙂
Michelle (The Runner's Plate) says
Love dinner party with friends–especially when they appreciate good, homemade, healthy food as well!!
Lindsay says
darn, I wish those wine pairing cookies were better, because wine + cookies sounds like an astounding combination!! However I always appreciate your honesty, because if I don’t need specialty cookies for my wine, I’ll just go about it the old fashioned way…or attack some of those notorious girl scout cookies lurking in our cupboards this time of year.
melissa (fitnessnyc) says
I like the cookie wine pairing chart! Never would have imagined!

Nosy questions …
The name Arlie is adorable (as is the actual Arlie). Is it a nickname?
Cookies & Corks … is it a local business? It sounds so cool! I live in this cute little town that LOOKS like it should have a ton of great small businesses, but it doesn’t. I’m always brainstorming, thinking about what would work here. (Not that I would start it, but I’d love to give someone else a great idea!)
KathEats says
It’s her real name!
And the Cookies & Corks is from VA
Allison @ Happy Tales says
oh my GOODNESS is Arlie just the cutest thing ever?!
What is that name short for?!?! I love it! (I’m a big fan of “A” names… my mom, Anne, named me Allison so we could have the same initials… and I’m planning to do the same thing for whenever I have a (human) baby-boo of my own! Happy (my furchild) obviously does not start with an “A”).
