Long time, no see Mrs. Dough Boy Smoothie!
This one is Banana Peach and was fabulous thanks to a generous tbsp of thick chia seeds and a super doughy taste.
It was so thick and pudding-like!! Topped with some shredded oats for crunch and coconut for texture.
Dreamy tea.
Exciting announcement at lunch!

Lindsey @ Pas de Deux says
Thick, pudding-like smoothies are the best! Happy Friday 🙂
Becca says
Oh wow, check out that pudding consistency!
Still haven’t tried that particular Barbara’s cereal (the oat one). It’s next on my list to try as I am pretty sure I’ve tried every other one that they make (PB, corn, cinnamon…)
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Banana peach sounds like an amazing combo. I can’t believe I haven’t tried that yet!
Lauren says
OATMEAL SQUARES!! My first introduction to nutrition was in second grade, and we put potato chips and oatmeal squares on a paper towel and watched the oil seep out of the chips. It was the first time I had been introduced to oatmeal squares cereal and I was so excited, because with my sweet tooth I would have chosen that delicious snack over potato chips any day! I hadn’t realized until writing this comment that that day probably sparked my interest in the field, and here I am starting my DI. Wow!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
I made smoothies with oats so often last summer – something I need to start doing again!
Stephanie says
Announcement suspense is killing me! Is it weird that I am so excited to hear your “baby is coming” news? After reading your blog for almost a year now, it is almost like waiting for a good friend to call and let you know they are headed to the hospital! So happy for you both 🙂

Looks so doughy! Mission successful 🙂 Question: have you ever tried anything other than oatmeal in your dough boy smoothies? Just looking for alternatives and figured I’d ask the expert!
KathEats says
I haven’t, but anything quick cooking would probably work
Tracy says
I’ve used barley flakes with success.

Kath, I’ve finished up the ends of my Puffins, honey bunches, Oatmeal Squares and Uncle Sam and I can’t decide which cereal I want to buy next. Could you please recommend one or a couple as the all around best choices for nutrition and deliciousness?
P.S. I had a yogurt bowl this morning and it reminded me of you… Cup of plain yogurt, half a whole wheat chocolate chip muffin, small nectarine, couple strawberries, half a banana, chia and sunflower butter – mmmm!
KathEats says
Kashi Cinnamon Harvest, the Barbaras Oatmeal Squares, Cheerios, Whole Foods brand wheat squares are some that come to mind. Simple ingredients, fair protein and fiber, lower than 10 grams of sugar per serving.
Alissa says
I keep meaning to try one of these – looks delicious!
Side note: pretty hilarious that the advertisement on your website this morning is for an Outback Bloomin’ Onion! I have a feeling you don’t approve. 🙂
KathEats says
Hahaha…. I do not!
