In this post, I’m sharing all about the food on the Disney Wish, from theme dinners to the casual breakfast and lunches at Marceline Market. If you missed it, check out my overall Disney Cruise overview.
I will admit that I board a cruise ship with mediocre expectations for food. I’ve been on a handful of cruises in my life and while the food is always good, it’s rarely great. My overall impression of the food on our Disney Cruise ranged from good to great. I didn’t have anything I didn’t like. Here’s an overview of our themed dinners and casual breakfasts and lunches on the Disney Wish.
Disney Wish Food
Unlike cruises I’ve done in the past, the coolest thing about a Disney cruise is the rotating dining rooms. Instead of going to the same dining room at the same table every night with perhaps a changing menu, you got three different dining rooms over the course of the cruise, each with a very different theme. On the Wish, the themes were 1920s, Marvel, and Frozen. I think I enjoyed the dining experience in 1923 the most but the other two themes were really fun. You can see all the dining options on the Disney website here. I should also mention that my sister is gluten-free and they had gluten-free options at every stop – she just sometimes had to ask for them.
Dining Time
One thing to note: There are two dining seatings to accommodate everyone, one at 5:45 and one at 8:15. When we booked our cruise (pretty far in advance I might add), the only dining time left was 8:15! We knew with three kids under 10 that this time was not going to work. Even the adults thought it would be a struggle. We were on a waitlist for 5:45 and were SO THRILLED when our dining time was updated a few hours prior to the first dinner. If we had had 8:15 we would have had a totally different dining experience. So thankful they could accommodate our large group at the early seating.

Dinner in 1923
We had our first two nights at 1923. This was a great assignment for two nights in a row since it was not overly themed. We LOVED having fancy bourbon cocktails. And I love the 1920s in general, so this was my personal favorite theme. The dining room is decorated with original props from Disney movies such as a bust from the Little Mermaid and animation sketches.
The kids had a different activity book each night that kept them busy for the first 15 minutes or so. Another reason Disney is so kid friendly! They also had kids cups with lids and brought all their drink requests. The next night those same drinks were already waiting on the table! The kids menu was extensive and had plenty of kid fare plus some extras for more adventuresome eaters. Mazen, age 12, ordered with the grownups and enjoyed lobster and steak!
Burrata and Prosciutto
LOVED this app! The burrata was perfection, and I loved the toffee seed cracker and candied orange. I also had an Old Fashioned drink special with maple and bacon!
Salad Course
This one was slightly underwhelming due to being very vegetable forward, but I loved the cheese and candied nuts.
Filet Mignon to kick off the trip!
Dessert
I don’t even remember what this was, but it was a cloud of vanilla! I loved it and all the little bites behind it.
1923 Night Two
The next night we were assigned 1923 again which was fine with me! We also had the same service team the whole cruise – they came with us to Marvel and Arendelle, too! It was lovely to get to know them and have them know us.
I started night two with a Boulevardier!
It came with a chocolate topper.
Seafood Sampler
The menu often had a seafood medley as an appetizer with smoked salmon, marinated shrimp, chilled tuna, etc. This one was delish!
Sea Bass
I had sea bass with celeriac puree and parsnip plus some kind of sea broccoli! This wasn’t my favorite (fish is hard to do in bulk!) but I am not overly picky so I enjoyed!
Caramel Sundae
We learned that the sundaes were often the best desserts, and this caramel sundae was my favorite dessert of the trip!
Happy New Year!
World of Marvel
Night three was Marvel themed! The dining room was very modern in contrast to 1923, and there were screens all around that told a story about our ship and Marvel characters – I don’t even remember who they were because I’m not much of a Marvel fan! But the gadgets on our table lit up, and Mazen got a really cool special drink in one.
Wedge Salad
Beef Tenderloin
Key Lime Pie!
If you didn’t catch the hint, it was also pirate night! The ship provided pirate bandanas for everyone in our staterooms, and some people brought accessories. Other people were dressed to the nines pirate! Poor Birch, we didn’t know to bring all his costumes. 🙁
Arendelle
Our final night and final dining room was Arendelle, Frozen themed! This one was so fun because there was lots of singing and music throughout the dinner.
The princesses were very excited to dress up!
A peek at the kids menu
Another delicious seafood sampler!
Visits from the characters
There was also music and singing in the middle of the room. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great view but we could hear well. Our servers sang with us, too!
Salmon Salad Bowl
I didn’t get a great pic of my salad bowl, but I went light on our last night because I was feeling full! This was a salmon salad with quinoa and it was just what I needed.
Mint Chocolate Chip Sundaes for all!
Casual Dining
For breakfasts and lunches, you can go to a dining room or one of the casual spots to eat. We ended up doing casual for all, but my sister and her group did the formal breakfast a few times. There were two options for casual: Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods (on the pool deck with stations by category) and Marceline Market. We had tacos and pizza on the pool deck the first day, but otherwise at in Marceline or on shore on an island.

Marceline Market
For adults, there were stations throughout, and I loved that the staff served you so I didn’t have to touch other people’s germs! Even the silverware came wrapped up in a bundle vs. a big container everyone was touching. They had a great variety of food and plenty of it was very healthy!
I LOVED the kids counter at Marceline! It was low to the ground so the kids could see, and they had a great variety of kid friendly favorites, from Mickey waffles to chicken tenders to little veggie cups.
Salmon salad with sweet potato fries
The salad was pre-made to grab off the station, and I loved it! You could add any protein on top (Mazen living his best life eating jello!).
Mazen also living his best life with all-you-can-eat crab legs!
Breakfast
I often had eggs (their eggs were so good!), muesli, fruit and sometimes a donut or pastry for breakfast.
They also had little smoothies like this mango one here. You can see Mickey waffles in the background! Also, plenty of pancakes with buttermilk, chocolate chips, blueberries, etc for the kids.
The Disney Wish food was overall very good!! I left satisfied and full every night – probably too full!! Even with my attempt at including salads and lighter meals into my days. I loved that the casual meals were served in stations rather buffet-style to minimize germs. I’d give the Disney Wish food a 9/10!
