Blogging on the neighbors again 🙁 On my tiny laptop. Internet is O.U.T. and I’m a crab!!
Guess who will be spending her commute on the phone with AT&T. Gosh my blood just BOILS when I think about how long this has been going on (2-3 weeks!?)
Other than that little big problem, I’m having a great day!! I went to cycle class this morning for a chance of pace.
A few bites of banana before I left – I was hungry AND thirsty this morning
I was surprised to find out that my legs were exhausted from yesterday’s run! (Or perhaps I just had one of those extra tight fly wheels..) But it was so hard to push the pedals. I kept my resistance lighter than usual and backed off my intensity a bit and ended up having a great ride.
I told Chuck, the instructor, about my blog and he announced it during our class! Hello to Chuck’s cycle class readers!
I ended my workout with some PAINFUL foam rolling. I wanted to roll all day yesterday and didn’t have one, so during my workout I was craving a good roll so much. It HURT! I definitely have a knot in my left outer quad that I’m working on. And my calves were super tight too. I think I might need one of those at home to do it more often…
Breakfast – HUBBA HUBBA!
I can already feel it happening – my taste for pumpkin is fading. This happens every year! I really think it’s physiological more than psychological. I think our bodies really know what’s in season. I opened my final hoarded giant can!
The Mix
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp Bob’s Red Mill Apple Cinnamon Hot Cereal
- 3/4 cup water
- Splash milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
- Pinch salt, vanilla cinnamon
- 1/2 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end
Toppings
- 1/2 tbsp Coconut butter frosting (<—I am so very much enjoying moving this to the front of my cabinet!)
- 1 tsp TJ’s pumpkin butter
- 1 tbsp Justin’s Maple Almond butter
- 2 tbsp Galaxy Granola
Help me out on this one – my body is too tired to think!
Watch out AT&T, here I come! [I now have them programmed as a favorite in my phone!]
Gabriela says
Sorry to hear about the internet woes!! Funny about the pumpkin thing, my mom told me we had some open in the fridge last week and I was kind of “meh” about it. I guess our bodies really do know what’s in season!! Have a great day 🙂
bvri says
it’s an upside down bird, duh!!!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
i hope the call with AT&T works out…that’s so frustrating! i got nothing on the coffee shape…an amoeba? haha!
The Paris Food Blague says
is there a season for canned pumpkin? even in november, it’s not seasonal….it’s canned!
Kath says
Well no, but pumpkin season is fall/winter and clearly that is ending!
Ann @ Appalachian Appetites says
AT&T had better get their act together! All of us readers are going to start protesting them! 😉
Lauren @ A Fit Foodie says
AT&T needs to get their butt in gear!! Seriously, that’s ridiculous how long it’s been going on! At least you had a good morning pedaling the frustration away… even just a little bit. 😉
Freya@ Brit Chick Runs says
Awh I feel for you with the internet! My first two weeks after I moved into my uni house were exactly like that ; my blood was boiling too!!
I love the look of that coconut butter – I’ve never seen it in England but I’m going to do some internet research methinks 🙂
Have a good day!
Mary (Food & Fun) says
i know what you mean….a few weeks ago I would wake up everyday craving pumpkin. Now, not so much!
Cristen says
It’s a jelly fish.
Jessica @ How Sweet says
I love foam rolling – it is the best pleasure pain!
jaclyn@todays lady says
Hubba hubba is right!! Those oats look so good!! I’m kinda over pumpkin right now too but I’ll probably still buy a can or two during the spring and summer…..
I hope you get your internet problem fixed! Poor you!! I pretty much hate dealing with those types of problems (ie. phoning and being on hold…)
Have a great day!!!
Meg @ Be Fit Be Full says
I would rather have a needle stuck in me than deal with cable & internet providers. What a pain. Sorry to hear you’re still having problems! Good to know your day started off well with spinning and a delicious breakfast!
JENNA says
awww…i hope your day gets better!!
your ‘frosting’ looks so yummy!!!!!!
Jenny says
My cox cable has been out- I awear they plan it on already hard days!
Meredith @ Sweat Every Day says
foam rollers have been on sale at target, lately! I got mine there and I like it!
kara says
Those oats look amazing. Hope that you get your internet fixed today, it’s such a pain to have to be without.
Lauren @ Eater not a runner says
Sorry about the internet, dealing with companies like that can be SO frustrating!!
Thirtyandhealthy says
Ugh that’s quite shocking that the issue is persisting this long. Have you any idea what’s causing the problem? I lived on an island for a year where I couldn’t get internet installed, or a phone line. I found that TOUGH! When the signal also went on my mobile phone (every time there was a gust of wind) I could have cried!
Kath says
It’s radio interference with the main line. There is nothing wrong with our modem but they keep sending people to our HOUSE when the STREET is what is broken!!
Lauren says
I think it is a little tiny island in the middle of nowhere that is calling our name 😉
Nutritious Foodie says
We have been having problems with comcast as well.. so one is not better then other.. good luck with your call.
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I hate it when my internet is down! Best of luck with AT&T!!
Maria says
Water buffalo!
jen trinque says
It reminds me of a jellyfish floating around in the sea, but that could be because I just went to the Georgia Aquarium last weekend!
rustique says
Mmmm, what a mix. I eat pumpkin any time of year, but I do tend to find it less appealing in the warmer months.
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun) says
I haven’t had pumpkin in months. Not to diminish my love for it or anything, but once December is over I kind of forget it exists until August comes around. I love the mix of butters (both nut and coconut), that you’ve got going on in this amazing bowl of oats! I’ve yet to try coconut butter in my oats (I’ve tried it on practically everything else imaginable), and your post has inspired me to include some in my breakfast tomorrow.
Wishing you luck with your internet provider!
Kelly says
Good luck calling AT&T! I hope it gets fixed sooner than later!
I am dying to try that Coconut butter. I may just have to suck it up and order a jar of it online! It just looks so delicious and I keep hearing great things about it! And that bowl of oats looks practically to die for….so really I am doing myself a favour by ordering a jar I think! 🙂
clay says
geez… I hope you figure out the phone situation ASAP! And those oats look great! I love maple AB
Midgetkeeper says
Wow, I’m sorry for all your internet issues. AT&T needs to get it together.
Andrea says
Gosh, the AT&T thing must be sooo frustrating. I had a similar nightmare scenario with Verizon a few months back. I hope it gets resolved!
Have a wonderful day, Kath!
Liz says
Hey Kath! I was wondering if you (or anyone who reads this) knows of any bloggers in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, etc). I love following your blog but it makes me wish I lived in your area to explore all the places you explore! (And it makes me jealous when you have stores I don’t have!) Maybe you know of someone around this area who I can follow and try the stores/restaurants they’re trying? Thanks!
Kath says
Not off the top of my head, but I know I’ve seen them!
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
Geez, so sorry about the internet again! Hope your day gets a lot better!
Beth @ Beth's Journey to Thin says
Man that stinks about the internet!! Its crazy how much time you’ve already had to invest to not get it fixed. Your oats always look to die for. I’m jealous!
Suzanne says
You should definitely get a foam roller. It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made. I use it most every night before bed and it really helps me be less sore in the morning! Particularly before and after races, it’s key!
Morgan @ Life After Bagels says
GO GET THEM KATH . . . hahaha I know it’s not funny because I literally feel like I want to LEAP through the phone every time I talk to our internet provider.
I think I might continue my pumpkin into the summer, we shall see. It’s my first year of pumpkin, so we’re kind of like newly weds.
runnin4fun says
Looks like an upside bird to me too…spring is in the air!
Paige(Running Around Normal) says
How FRUSTRATING! My blood would be boiling, too.
That’s funny/awesome that your instructor randomly told the class about your blog haha.
Good luck with AT&T!
Sydney says
Looks like a sideways jelly fish to me! 🙂
I wish my oats looked as good as yours every morning! And I’m sorry to hear that the internet is down AGAIN!! That is totally the worst 🙁
Hannah says
It’s funny how our bodies can tune into seasonality, isn’t it? So much good luck sent your way for AT&T – it’s really unacceptable how long this has gone on for you!
Becky @ flybynyght says
Can you actually remember the days *before* internet? I try very hard not to remember those days, they were dark days (no computer monitor lighting up your face all day!). I HATE to be without internet now…it truly makes me anxious!
Hope you have good luck with AT&T!
Lindsey says
I see stars.
That is, in your foam 😉 – there’s a moon with a few stars around it… 🙂
Blast AT&T. Do you have options for a different service provider?
Friday’s almost here! 😉
Brynn says
It looks like some organelle floating around a cell in my bio book.
Wendy Jacob says
OH I am SO jealous you even have pumpkin at all!!!! Can’t find it anywhere here even generic or organic. out out OUT everywhere! So when the next season is harvested I will be stocking up for sure!
Sorry to hear about the internet…that IS frustrasting!!!
Have a great day! Love your blog. It’s a daily light in my day!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
OH girl…. you go get them!!!!
My taste for pumpkin is fading as well.. but that bowl of oats still looks pretty darn amazing!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
I crave berries in the spring and summer and pumpkin the second the fall hits.
I need to get a foam roller soon since my PT recommended it for my legs with all the running I’m doing lately.
Jenn (www. j3nn.net ) says
Hope you get your internet fixed! It’s been going on WAY too long! 😡
Jenn
Jenny D. says
Hey Kath!
I’ve said it before – I’m a newbie to the oats in the morning, but I’m definitely experimenting!! I tried adding some frozen blueberries into the oats as they cooked – WOAH! Sooooooo good! I guess my body is craving spring/summer foods too!
Oh – and the coffee shape is a man opening his mouth to say “Ahhh” for a doctor who’s looking at that gunk in his throat (the little blob in the middle!).
Good luck with AT&T!!

GRRR internet issues are so annoying especially when it is an on going thing!!
Shows your dedication to this blog and all your readers. I am sure its not the easiest thing to go over to your neighbors when you have a million things to do.
GET A FOAM ROLLER!! they are amazing to have at home, are pretty cheap, dont take up much room and you two are so active that you would get a ton of use our of it. You can also use it for stability workouts.
First I saw an amoeba, then an upside down baby chick, finally I thought of one of the ghosts that try to eat pac-man 🙂
kate says
Maybe an upside down penguin (kinda?!) or an amoeba hah! I love your little vase!
Katie says
You’re still having problems with your internet? I’d be demanding some credits on your bill. They don’t deliver service, you don’t pay for said service.
Jil says
I go through food obsessions…they’re always pretty intense and last a good while…but then they fade to nothingness…until I discover that food again. haha
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
lol– that’s cute that your instructor announced your blog to the class 🙂
I really only eat pumpkin in winter and fall– that’s definitely when I crave it the most. And that way, it’s always exciting when I have my first pumpkin dish in september or october 🙂
Letitia says
There is a Buffalo in your coffee!!!!!!
Stacey says
I can’t find pumpkin ANYWHERE 🙁 Oh well.
LOL that’s funny that he announced it to the spin class 😀 My teachers read my blogs and they announced it to the class at the beginning of the semester, I have to admit that I blushed a tad…my Food Management teacher even pulled up the website on the class projector!!!! I guess I’m just shy 😉
jess says
breakfast looks delicious! with just 1/4 cup of oats hidden under all of the other goodies i think it’s time to start calling your breakfast toppings with oats rather than oatmeal with toppings!
Kath says
Don’t forget about the hot cereal too!
Michele | aka Raw Juice Girl says
SO sorry about all the Internet trouble!! 🙁
Breakfast looks yummy, though, and at least you’re having a great day otherwise. Here’s to FIXED Internet soon!!!!
Hugs,

Good luck with A T & T, I have had to battle it out with them more times than anyone should have to…stay strong and calm! (I tend to do A LOT of yoga breathing when I call them lol)
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
i haven’t had pumpkin in a while (months?!) but i can understand that it’s no longer appealing – i don’t think i’ll be cracking open a can til october….

good luck and have a good day 🙂
Lindsey says
Kath, I am really excited to report that after being stranded in NYC for school for months, I was able to return home to VA and find a Greatharvest! It is pretty much the best bread ever. ever. I’m so glad I read your blog, otherwise this little oasis of deliciousness would be forever missing from my life. Oh where would I be without my Breakfast Blast? haha 🙂
Kath says
🙂 wheee!
Cole says
The coconut butter looks heavenly! Good luck with AT&T…
Quisha says
i keep seeing this pumpkin. i’ve gotta try it in my oats.
good luck with the net. i know it can make a happy girl a grump!
Opera Girl says
That’s so interesting about getting tired of pumpkin – I feel the same way about seasonality and its affect on our bodies. Right now I’m craving rhubarb and asparagus all the time, quel coincidence 😉
Paige says
I feel your pain! When my Internet is down at home, I cannot stand it. It’s not so much the fact that I can’t get online right then; it’s that I am not receiving the service that I am paying dearly for!

I feel your pain about the internet outage — ours has been on the blink for a couple of days now. It’s irritating, but it’s no 2 or 3 weeks. 🙁 I’d be steamed too!
I’m sure you’ve run the gamut with customer service, but have you thought about telling them you’re only going to be paying part of this month’s bill for the service you actually did receive (so, only a week at this point)? We did this once with our cable company and suddenly, the problem was fixed.
It was magical. Money talks. So do blogs…wonder if they know you’re broadcasting your frustrations to all your readers who are probably telling other people about those troublemakers at AT&T…hmm ;). Maybe throw that in there, too.
Kath says
They have already comped us some days for our outages 🙁 They are really nice! The problem just isn’t fixed!
Alyssa says
I’m a very picky granola eater, mostly because it’s so calorie dense, but today I did some impromptu grocery shopping at the local health store and saw the Galaxy Granola I always read about on your blog. After checking out the nutrition stats I gave in and bought it. I couldn’t even wait to get home to try it, I opened the bag as soon as I got in my car. I got the Not Sweet Vanilla and loved it! I immediately called my Mom, who loves granola too, to tell her about it. She’s also a diabetic so the fact that this granola had only 4g of sugar per serving is great for her. Thanks so much for blogging about the granola so often!! I think I’ve found a granola I finally approve of!
Samantha says
WOW at&t needs to get their act together!!

You have nice neighbors. I wish mine would let me come over if my computer crashed.
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
That looks like a good filling cup of oats for a hard workout in cycle class. I made banana oats before my 2 hr. kickboxing class yesterday and the addition of banana gave me so much energy and was so filling. Now it’s going to be my Wednesday staple.
Sabina says
Get yourself your own foam roller. I have one at home and it’s a godsend. It’s a good activity to do in front of the TV and the rollers are not that expensive.
Laura says
If you turn your coffee 90 degrees clockwise it could be a cat with one eye!?

Woah, those oats look like oat heaven, probably the best combo, and the toppings look great. Your blog has really made me want to try Carmel Okios by the way, with all those yummy toppings for dessert<3

Buy the roller!!!! It was the best $20 I ever spent. My body thanks me every time I use the thing.
