Lampo is our new Neapolitan pizza restaurant here in Cville, and I’ve been dying to try it as soon as it opened. I’ve heard that it’s really hard to get a table, so when we decided we would give it a shot we showed up at 4:45 to wait outside. I think I was still digesting lunch!
We had a party of 6 with Karen’s friends joining us for dinner, and we got a table right in the big front window. It’s very cozy inside.
Wine was ordered!
After perusing the menu, we decided to order a few salads and olives plus one of each of the pizzas.
Mazen enjoyed the margherita pizza the most ; )
THESE OLIVES! There must have been lemon oil involved because they were the best olives of my life.
I had a kale salad to start, which was small but mighty. {tuscan kale, candied almond, pickled mustard seed, apple cider vinaigrette, parsnip}
My favorite of our pizzas (read about all the flavors here) was the Prosciutto – prosciutto di san danielle, panna, arugula, grana padano, lemon. Again it was the LEMON that knocked my socks off!
We ate ALL of the pizza, and then went by Splendora’s for gelato on the way home. They now have local beer flavors, which were awesome!
It was such a nice evening – we walked there and back!
We will be back!

One of these days I will try Lampo!! We went last weekend around 6pm, thinking it was earlyish and most students were still gone on spring break, but there was still a 1.5 hour wait!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t have minded waiting, but there really is not much room inside to stand around and wait that long and it was raining outside. Boo! Glad to see it was yummy though – gives me motivation to keep trying 🙂
