We just spent a long weekend in North Carolina for our 10 year reunion at Davidson College!
Before we met up with our classmates, we went down to Charlotte a night early to spend some time with the Boyles. Caitlin and I went to the Zac Brown Band concert on Thursday night. I LOVE ZBB and couldn’t wait for the show!
It was just as great as you would imagine. Not only did we hear some good favorites, but they played a lot of great cover songs too – like Bohemian Rhapsody! The whole audience was singing along to that one!
Friday morning our two families went to the gym together for a workout. Mazen loved seeing Henry’s “classroom” and I got to try out Caitlin’s bootcamp! We did a short but intense workout with lots of burpees and ended our workout with some laps around the track while we waited for the men, who were playing racquetball.
I loved getting to meet Miss Claire, who is even cuter in person! She is such a smiley, happy baby and so snuggly!
These two became fast friends again!
We ordered Cowfish for lunch, and Matt and I got several delicious rolls. I loved the mushroom ones Matt picked out!
Friday afternoon we left Mazen in good hands while we headed up to Davidson for the evening. {New dress from Stitch Fix!}
It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since we graduated from college – and 14 since we arrived for freshman orientation. In some ways the reunion was a lot like our first days of freshman year: friend groups and fraternity lines melted away and everyone seemed to be putting their friendliest foot forward.
We had some drinks and a Mexican buffet for dinner.
I was the DD and only had a glass and a half of wine before we headed back to Charlotte around 10pm.
Once tucked in bed, I set my alarm for 6:30 because I had big plans for Saturday morning!
Back in my Charlotte days, Y2 Yoga became one of my favorite activities. Emily and I used to get up early on Saturdays (back when we had no children or obligations before noon!) to go to Tanner’s Superflow class. Superflow is 90 minutes at 99 degrees. It is I.N.T.E.N.S.E. From the upbeat pop music to the fast-paced flow of the class to the hands-on approach of the instructors to the comedian track during pigeon pose, it’s a class like no other. I miss it so much! I can’t remember the last time I went to Superflow, but my body remembered its old ways and I powered through all 90 minutes. I definitely have not sweat that much since the last time I took this exact class 4? 5? years ago.
I got to catch up with Tanner and Jen afterwards and they gave me a tour of the brand new renovated and expanded space, which is HUGE!
To the left, to the left….
To the right, to the right…
They have more studios, a big cafe with awesome real food smoothies, a full spa, child care and a beautiful space. I tried the Downward Dog smoothie for breakfast – loved the touch of almond butter!
After showering back at the Boyles, we said goodbye and headed up to Davidson for the rest of the reunion. Where we had visitors meeting us!
To be continued…!

I don’t guess you heard that Cowfish was closed temporarily this weekend so the health department could check things out. Employees and diners were reporting sickness. They didn’t discover anything, but my husband and I ate there recently, and we thought the food tasted and smelled off. I hope you guys don’t get sick!

We did see that on the news, but thankfully we are all OK
