A taste of heaven on this Monday morning
Whipped banana oatmeal made with chia seeds, cinnamon, and milk topped with cranberry sauce and Flying Squirrel PB, the Cocoa-Nut, which I have determined reminds me of a Resee’s! This bowl was near oatmeal perfection.
Candy Cane Black Tea – my new favorite.
It may be unseasonably hot outside this week, but there’s cold in my head. #cantstopsneezing
Have a wonderful week!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
If that Cocoa Nut flavor of the Flying Squirrel PB reminds of you a Reese’s, I definitely need to get my hands on some!! I love anything that is or reminds me of a Reese’s. 🙂 Looks like a delicious breakfast!

(It’s coming to OpenSky soon!)
Megan says
OMFG. It may be allergies Kath!
I had banana oatmeal today too! Didn’t satisfy my hunger, so I had 1/8 of a muffin from Costco. Have a great day everyone!
KathEats says
I think it’s just a cold 🙁
ashley says
I had oatmeal with milk, banana and peanut butter this morning too. I’ve always been an eater that ate things like protein smoothies or low-carb in an effort to eat what I “should”. Now, I’ve grown tired of it, and am trying to eat what I want for once (and that includes big bowls of oatmeal in the morning, yum and grilled cheese sandwiches for snacks. Yum!).
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Best use of leftover cranberry yet! I think it should be served with PB at Thanksgiving dinner. 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I can’t stop sneezing this morning too but I’m pretty sure mine is just allergies from not taking my medicine for 3 days. Feel better!
kelsey @ living the gluten free life says
I should have put cranberries on my oats this morning – might have to have them again tomorrow to try it out!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
i would take unseasonably warm right now… it snowed in chicago this morning! no stickage though.

Your oatmeal sounds delicious with banana and cinnamon.

It’s unseasonably COLD here this week– we’re expecting snow tomorrow, and we live in Alabama!! Looks like a great breakfast!
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
Excellent idea to add cranberries to porridge (oatmeal) 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Yikes, good luck with that cold! I had one for 3 weeks and now that it’s finally gone, I’m being extra careful to wash my hands, rest lots, and all the rest of that sort of stuff. Happy Monday!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
that is a fun bowl! Very cute!
Khushboo says
Hope you feel better! That looks like a mighty comforting breakfAst 🙂
Danielle @ Dish'n'Dash says
Would love to try that PB! Alas, in Ottawa, Canada we don’t get as much variety with the PB and I can’t buy anything through OpenSky (at least the last time I checked I couldn’t). It amazes me sometimes that groceries I can get when I’m in the U.S. but I can’t get here, or sometimes even how much cheaper it is there!
Love the bowl – where did you find it?
KathEats says
Bowl is crate and barrel
Hilliary @Happily Ever Healthy says

I’m sort of obsessed with that bowl! How unique! I just got new dishes on Black Friday, but didn’t see anything like that in my shopping travels! And by the way, that combination sounds incredible! I will have to try it!
Meaghan O'Connor (My Spoonful of Inspiration) says
I love the triangle bowl!

That looks super delicious, my mothers makes the most wonderful breakfast cranberry muffins. The perfect mix of something tart and sweet. Wow I am craving a giant bowl of oatmeal after this post. Great post as always!!!

That oatmeal looks like creamy oat perfection! Hope you feel better very soon.

Favorite Thanksgiving leftover: cranberry sauce.
Isn’t it so versatile? I could put it on everything, from yogurt to oatmeal to a lunch time sandwich. So good. 😀
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
It’s SO warm here on the east coast, yet MEMPHIS is getting snow? WTH, Mother Nature?
Dear Aqua Net hairspray and the 1980s, I blame you for this global warming.
Cait's Plate says
I know I feel like this strange warmer weather has shocked the system for everyone. My breathing on my run the other day was AWFUL because of it!
And that bowl definitely looks like oatmeal perfection! I love the cranberry sauce addition! Genius 🙂
Melody (Redhead in the Kitchen) says
Candy Cane black tea? Yum. I am really excited about the peppermint tea I bought last night… I am hoping it will make me forget about Candy Cane Joe Joes, but I don’t know if there is anything that can accomplish that feat.

Feel better soon, Kath!

The weather in LA has been nearly (if not) 80 the past couple days and while it never gets that cold out here, it’s confusing me! Hope you’re not getting sick – rest up! 🙂

Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I have finally come to the conclusion that it has been WAY too long since I have had whipped banana oats!

My family buys the jellied/jarred stuff so I don’t have any homemade cranberry sauce leftover. Yours looks awesome!
Jill in Chicago says
Hey Kath, Did you (or any readers!) see this news story about the guy who makes “Eat More Kale” t-shirts being bullied by Chik-Fil-A? When I see/think of those t-shirts, I think of you! You were the first person I saw wearing one. I think it’s time I go support Mr. Muller-Moore and get one of my own…
Karen says
Really? That’s pitiful! His message is simply to make concious food choices. Who could argue with that?! I’ve ordered from him, and he seems like a really sweet guy. I’m sure he’d appreciate your support.
KathEats says
Yes, so sad. I think everyone needs to buy one to support him!
Ashley J says
Done and done, Jill! I love his message!

I’m sorry you have a cold! But that oatmeal sure looks good, I wish I had some leftover cranberry sauce for my oatmeal, what a good idea!
Candice @ Sailing on Paper says
Hope you feel better soon! It’s that time of year, unfortunately. A bunch of people at my house for Thanksgiving weren’t feeling well, so I’m crossing my fingers I don’t get sick!
Jen says
Candy Cane tea sounds AMAZING.
Nicole says
I’m so sad…been eating Paleo/Primal for awhile now after recently losing 25 lbs from my last pregnancy (he’s NINE now LOL) and every time I eat oatmeal, I gain weight. I want so badly to be able to eat it and not have it negatively affect me…not sure what the deal is unless I’m just VERY sensitive to ANY grains (I am definitely gluten sensitive but made sure to get gluten free oats).
katie @KatieDid says
boo I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully now that the hype of all the holidays and excitement is calming down, your cold will settle down too.
Hannah says
Hope your cold goes away soon! *Kath-choo!* BLESS YOU!
KathEats says
Haha!
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
Never thought of cranberry sauce in oatmeal…yum…
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
I used to get sick after tday at the bakery almost every year — so much pushing and not enough good food and resting. Throw in all the extra curriculars of the holidays and it was my recipe for a cold. Don’t know if this is what happened for you, but is how it worked for me. I’m getting better at taking care of myself during the crazy times. Feel better!
Julia H. @ The Petite Spiel says
Sweet bowl! Funky shapes make everything taste better 🙂
