Taste Of Summer
Nothing says Summer like a light, fresh and crisp salad. Lunch or Dinner, salads are the perfect Summertime meal! I love to start with a base of fresh, organic greens like romaine or mixed baby lettuce. I add all of my favorites like carrots, cucumber, fresh fruit and simple protein like like grilled chicken, turkey, or beans. I love the addition of fruit to salads too, especially berries and apples. Avocado is also a great healthy addition and can often lend the same qualities that cheese might add, but with a healthier twist! Here are a few of my favorite Summer Salads…
Simple and delicious, just the way I like it. Summer never tasted so good! What’s your favorite salad addition?

Yum! The salads look delicious. Recently, my favorite addition is charred, broiled mushroom halves.

I love fruit and avocado in salads, too. One of my favorite combinations right now is strawberries, avocado, and goat cheese.
I also wondered what the protein is in the first picture and how you prepared/cooked it? It looks cruncherifically delicious and I want some!

Oops–I meant to ask about the protein in the second picture (not the first).

That salad looks delicious! My favorite salad addition is goat cheese crumbles, definitely! They add so much flavor and take the salad to a whole new level.

Ok so this probably sounds really weird but here is what I like to do with my salads. I make a base (sometimes just spinach, or spinach and a bunch of other kinds of lettuce). Then I get out a bowl. Into the bowl goes a half cup of fage 0% (10 grams protein for a half cup!) and a combination of spices/fruits/veggies/nuts/whatever. I mix it all up then throw it over the greens and voila! Amazing! Some good combos include cumin, red pepper, turmeric, cayenne, olive oil, hummus, and mixed chopped veggies (carrot, broccoli, pepper, etc) and green apple with cinnamon and cucumber. It turns out super awesome every time!!!!

My salads aren’t complete unless they include raisins. Their texture is always amazing and their sweetness gives any combination so much depth!
