Poppin’ in before dinner to say hi and report back on our day. Grammie and Pea are here, and we’re having a blast! We always wish they could stay longer.
This morning Mazen’s preschool had “Imagination Day” where the parents (and grandparents) got to go in and participate. So cute, of course!
First we made snowmen…
Then we went to music class and played with bongos and shaky eggs. His class is so cute!
Mazen stayed at school for lunch with his friends while mom, dad and I went to the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar for lunch. (They LOVED it, by the way!) Right after we ordered I got a call that Mazen was not happy and needed to be picked up, so I left my parents at lunch and took him home. Poor guy was sad that we left, even though he told me “I want to go to Lunch Bunch with my friends!” I think we just threw him off with our visit.
My parents brought home my salad, which I have decided is the best salad in Cville. Greens with a yummy dressing topped with pears, feta, candied walnuts, cucumbers, tomatoes, and salmon. PLUS the toasted pita chips are amazing!
Mazen had quiet time (but no nap – we are purposefully trying to phase down naps so he will go to bed a bit earlier) and then we packed up and went to Sweethaus for a friend’s birthday party!
Did you know you can order a frosting shot at Sweethaus? Cookie dough is my favorite ever!
We are sipping Mark West Pinot and have a chicken pot pie baking in the oven. I’ll post dinner on Instagram where I’m hoping to fill in some of the meal gaps in my blogging life!
xo

OH MY…frosting shots?!?! I need a place like that close to me! Now that I think about it…how do all cupcake places not offer frosting shots? You’ve now set me in search of frosting shots in Canada 🙂

Did you see The Skimm today… “Something head-scratching happened in Canada too. A tunnel more than 20 feet long lit by a generator was discovered near a sports complex in Toronto. No one except for The Others and John Locke know what it’s for or how it got there. The structure had reinforced ceilings, tools inside, and likely the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 carved into the walls.” Funny stuff 🙂

I was juuuust sending that to my friends! Hilarious reporting…but very creepy.

Hey just FYI your cooksmarts ad is blocking half of your first paragraph. It could be just on my PC, but you might want to check into it.
KathEats says
Fixed! Thanks

I personally think that a “shot” is the perfect serving size of any dessert – every place should offer the mini versions!
Hope says
Just FYI- there’s a Cooksmarts ad covering most of your first paragraph (at least on my screen). As far as I can tell there’s no option to close it.
KathEats says
Fixed I think!
Hope says
It is!
Also, I’ve wanted frosting all day because of you. 😉

That icing looks amazing! I’m not a huge icing fan, but I could become one if I had icing shots like that.
