It has been one of those weird weeks coming back from a trip on a Monday. Mazen is still fighting his current time zone (we had NO trouble going from EST to PST but the return has been brutal!) Meals have been scattered around too.
My friends scheduled a girls’ night on Wednesday, so I met up with them at Beer Run. We shared these amazing nachos and I had a cobb salad as well.
Matt and Mazen had chicken on the grill, which is what I had over a salad the next day. Greens were from the garden and the cheese was a super buttery manchego that I loved! The dressing was a basil-olive oil special – a mix I put together on the spot.
I had this smoothie in a bowl after 6am Plyo Max class. It was packed with kale from the garden, frozen banana, frozen raspberries, milk, oats and flax. Quaker Real Medleys granola on top!
This salad was the best thing I had all week! Probably because I put the most effort into it : ) I snipped a bunch of kale and herbs (dill + basil) from the garden and then massaged them in sesame oil, rice wine vinegar and smoked sea salt. I added yellow bell pepper, avocado and delicious blue cheese plus heavily toasted pine nuts. Epic!!
We had Sylvia over for a playdate on Thursday – those two wore each other out! Sarah and I traded babysitting so I could get some work done in the afternoon and she could run errands in the morning.
And finally, we had this dinner last night – simple sautéed salmon with squash cooked in herbs de provence and topped with shredded parmesan. Tuscan Sourdough bread on the side! That squash was so good!!
M has been doing his share of cooking too this week ; ) He served me a tasty hot dog and lots of pizza.
Haaaaaappy weekend!! We have big plans on Saturday that I can’t wait to share!

For some reason I cannot follow you on Instagram! Your name doesn’t show up when I search it, and when I try to click on it from the links on your blog, it says the page is unavailable. Any idea why?
KathEats says
That is so weird! You don’t think you’re blocked do you?
Christine says
Huh? Blocked? Why would anyone get blocked??
Unrelated, how much sugar is in that granola? I’m always on the lookout for very low sugar granolas – most of them have too much for me.
Shannon says
I can’t either Laura! Can’t imagine what I’ve done to be blocked!
KathEats says
That is really weird! So you can see it at all? Can you send me a screen shot?
Laura G. says
Just sent you an e-mail with a screenshot!
KathEats says
Thanks! Glad we figured it out!

I thought I would let you know that I LOVE your site and have been reading and enjoying your posts for several years. But, I really dislike these new action ads. They hang up my computer while they load, so that I can’t continue to scroll down the page. I’m not sure what options you have on them, but it makes it a drag to read the posts. The previous ads that just showed static on the photos were fine, it’s just the last week or so since they are moving.
Thank you – just thought I would share the feedback, in case you were not aware.
