Thanks for all of your lighting insight! I am still undecided. I agree with you guys about outgrowing the colors, BUT I’m not in love with the felt look of that gray one. And I wish it were just a tad lighter. The hunt continues!
Especially since Betty pointed me to Seascape lamps…soooooo many choices!!
These are just the first half of the oranges!!!
And here is more orange:
Fuel for an hour-long spin class! The class was great, and I ran into two more of my gym friends. I just love how fun going to the gym has become!! Kelly + Mary actually hung out with Robyn last night – we connected the circle!
I came home starving for dinner, and luckily we had a re-heat one planned.
A leftover portion of Huge Bean Soup that I froze just before Thanksgiving. Reheat ‘n eat.
And on the side – a taste of 3 breads. A Goldilocks group. Cheddar Garlic tastes amazing, but has 0% whole wheat. Spinach Feta has so much flavor but is about 1/3 whole wheat. Cville Crunch is my fav, but isn’t the most gourmet soup side but is 100% whole wheat and the healthiest choice. Since I couldn’t decide, I just had a small piece of each. The best of all 3 worlds!
After dinner Matt and I watched the film An Education. It was one of those I added to Netflix ages ago and when it arrived I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t have a clue what it was about.
I ended up LOVING the film. It was a modern-made coming-of-age set in the 1960s that watched like a short story. Great plot and characters!
Good night friends, see you for breakfast.
Melissa @ Journey to Marvelous says
That soup looks great! I would like to make something similar to have for the week.
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
what a cozy night! i love leftover dinners… quick, easy, and no clean up.

I used to be really into interior design when I was little, then realized that I’d be too overwhelmed by all the options available to be good at it! It’s so hard to pick from everything out there! God help me when I move into my first apartment and have to decorate it on my own…so much to choose from.
Dinner looks DEEEEELISH, btw! I’m freezing in my room so that hearty meal is warming me via computer.

You have to LOVE what you get. That’s what I think of when I see an item. Do I absolutely LOVE it or just like it a lot? Sometimes I walk away and go home and if the next day I still WANT it (and of course can afford it) then I get it. I got a mirror at 80% off that way! I LOVED it but couldn’t afford it (it was almost $300!) then I found it in another store a month later. I paid just $59.00.
lynda @ healthy hoboken girl says
sleep on it, and think about the lighting situation tomorrow. so much to choose from….very hard, but fun and exciting! it’s going to look great!
have a peaceful nightt!!
Becca says
Mmm, bread tasting plate.
An Education is sort of the story of my man and I, almost everything leading up to the drama at the end of the movie. None of that happened! …and we’re still happily together, unlike the movie 😉
KathEats says
Really!? Very romantic.
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says

Pretty!! I like the Soho!

I love that movie!! Carey Mulligan was nominated for an Oscar for that I believe. And I find Dominic Cooper very cute! Somehow. Ha!
Amanda says
Wow, that is a crazy amount of lamp shade choices. I don’t do well when I have too many options – I’m too indecisive!
I also really liked that movie!
Lynn @ the actor's diet says
Remember loving that film when I saw it in theaters. Cary Mulligan is quite amazing.
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
don’t get the west elm one if you don’t love it…you may tire of the colorful one, sure, if you get that…but you can probably ebay/craigslist it or just…donate it after a few years. You will have gotten your money’s worth, so to speak…and tastes change and times move on. Get what you love now, and worry about getting tired of it…for that rainy day….if it ever comes. I have some things people told me id get sick of but years later, I still love em.
Whatever you get…will look wonderful, no doubt!
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
Syracuse. GO ORANGE!

Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee says
Mmmm the clementines nowadays have been so amazing! 🙂 The spinach feta bread looks delicious. I’m allergic to wheat, but my family isn’t and they absolutely ADORE the great harvest pumpkin bread . Oh and my favorite of the lampshades is the second one down all the way to the right.
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
sounds like a perfect Sunday night!
Kim @ Spoonful of Sass says
My this dinner looks familiar! 🙂

I like the fact you make your dinner so special with cloth napkins. When I get my dining room in order I will definitely look for some cloth at the fabric store (maybe remnants) and sew me some napkins!
Roxanne says
Oh yeah, one obstacle to that idea…. I’ll to buy myself a sewing machine….
Pat says
I have no dining room and we use cloth napkins all the time. You can buy some nice ones for not too much – check out some antique shops.
Roxanne says
Antique shops… I haven’t been to one for ages. I’ll go next week, thanks!
Kathi says
All those lampshades! How to decide?
I loved An Education, I don’t buy movies often but I own that one! I have all the music on my ipod too. Loved everything about it.
Cyndi says
I know you are discriminating – I am the same way, but don’t let the process! Be happy with the good enough choice.
Cyndi says
… supposed to be “don’t let the process overtake you”. Ooops

one of my favorite movies EVER. I actually fell asleep (!!!) in the theater the first time i saw it, and recently rewatched on netflix and fell in love. I wish i could convince my boyfriend to watch it with me :/
Kristin says
Looks like a perfect combination of seasonal foods! Those oranges taste so juicy right now since they are in season. Also, your soup looks incredibly healthy and filled with vegetables. I bet a little bit of plain yogurt on top would be even better next time. I hope you enjoyed everything!
Hillary says
Ohhh, I adore that movie and Carey Mulligan. I kind of wanted to be her after watching it.
Kati Mora, MS, RD, Kellogg's FiberPlus(R) Wellness Advocate says
The Huge Bean Soup looks delish! And I love that its a reheat dish. I’m all for nutritious, delicious, and easy to pull together meals. 🙂
Sarah@The Flying ONION says
Look at all those lamp varieties! That would make an almost impossible decision for someone indecisive like myself. The good news is that you really can’t go wrong with any of them! 😀
Karen says
I loved that movie too! I almost always choose the indies over any other genre.
I agree with others: if you don’t love it, leave it. Take your time. Truthfully, I personally would find it dificult t to choose a lampshade via Internet. esp one that will be such a prominant fixture in an already furnished dining room. Maybe it would be an easier decision if you were to visit a few of the stores – such as West Elm, Room and Board, C+B, Cb2, etc. if any are relatively local to you.
Yum to soup and bread for dinner!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I really wanted to see that movie when it first came out, but I totally forgot about it since then. I think I’ll have to rent it as a study break this week! 😀
Rebecca @ Naturally Healthy and Gorgeous says
It’s so great being able to simply thaw some dinner. I always freeze extras!
Sara @my less serious life says
i see why you are having so much trouble deciding – they are all awesome! but, orange is my favorite color so i don’t think you can wrong with any of them!!! can’t wait to see which one you choose!
Katie says
We had some toasted GH Stuffing and Spinach Red Pepper Swiss with our Salmon Veggie Chowder this evening. My husband loved the soup but was too full for seconds because he ate too much bread! With the lampshade I would go with your instinct and what you really love even if you do change it. With decorating, we tend to take our time and make sure we don’t make impulse decisions, but we also make sure we make decisions for ourselves not what other people would choose. You are the one who gets to enjoy seeing the lampshade everyday so choose something fun that fits into your wonderful decorating style. I really like the green and blue one, but I also love some of the orange ones, good luck choosing!
KathEats says
Spinach Red Pepper Swiss!!
Katie says
My kids love the Spinach Red Pepper Swiss, as well as any other GH or just any bread in general! Some people were laughing at them at the farmer’s market when they were demanding that we buy the spinach bread!
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
Love the lamps – so many choices! I have been debating taking a spin class – they look tough! All your bread looks amazing!
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
There’s nothing better than when you can grab and eat. Makes you glad you put forth the effort at another time! 🙂

You can design your own at: www.lampsplus.com. I designed a 16 inch one for about 200$ and i love it. It seems like a similar website to the one above, except you can customize all the patterns/colors. Good luck- a fun but hard decision 🙂
KathEats says
Oh cool, I’ll check that out!
Charise says
I’ve been on a lamp shade and lamp hunt for various rooms in our house for a month now – it’s so hard to find something nice, in the style you’re looking for, that also isn’t insanely expensive. Good luck! 🙂
I really enjoyed An Education too – good movie.

Are you on pinterest.com? There are tons of pictures of lampshades (DIY included) that you could check out. Maybe you could upcycle a galvanized bucket with an Ikea light fixture to get that gray look you liked: http://pinterest.com/pin/201184308323592097/
