Hi from Cinnamonland!
We have had a lot of requests for the white, fluffy cinnamon chip bread and Matt made a huge batch of it today. It’s incredible – but we do intend to keep the whole wheat on the menu too : )
I had a nice slice when I walked in the door from Body Pump, shaking from head to toe with muscle fatigue!
A while later, lunch!
I had an end piece sandwich with hummus + veg
Plus a plum that was more liquid than solid – I didn’t quite get to chew it
Have a nice afternoon!
Mai says
Mmm, cinnamon chip bread sounds so goood.
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
I’ve missed out on plums this summer! I found a Pittsburgh Great Harvest and can’t wait to make the trip to grab some bread!
The Healthy Hipster says
You are giving me so much stone fruit inspiration lately, Kath! Good thing its yellow plum season here in Canada!
Amanda at the red table says
So funny — I just had my first Great HArvest cinnamon chip bread here in Omaha when we bought it at the farmers’ market a couple weeks ago. Very delicious!
How long have you been operating your bakery?
KathEats says
2 months!
Meredith says
Whoa, that hummus is spread so thick… amazing!
Lisa Fine says
That bread looks delicious (just like all of your breads do).
You’ll be bringing baked treats to the Healthy Living Summit, right? 😉
KathEats says
Probably not..but maybe
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
*please make that ‘maybe’ a ‘most definitely, most of which will be going straight to Freya at Brit Chick Runs’. 🙂
Mary Frances says
There is a Great Harvest about seven miles away from where you will be at HLS and they are open on Saturday and Sunday, but not Monday and Tuesday. If a bunch of you will be going, you might want to call them now to place your orders to be picked up–that way you won’t be disappointed if they are sold out and you will get what you want. Also, it would be only fair to them for scheduling purposes, and so they are not unexpectedly inundated and be unable to service their regular customers. Maybe if enough of you place a big enough order early enough, they might consider even delivering it. Who knows, the owners might even already have plans to be in that part of the city on Saturday evening for dinner or something anyway.
KathEats says
They are actually providing the bread for our Saturday lunch!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says
What a perfect post workout treat! 😀
Ashley@FoodFitnessFun says
Where did you get that bread you used for your sandwich?? It looks AMAZING!
Mary-Heather says
Just a guess, but probably at the bakery she owns and posts about nearly every day, Great Harvest in Charlottesville, VA. 😉 It does look delicious!
Ashley@FoodFitnessFun says
Probably a good guess. Just thought I’d ask.
Carrie says
I really hope this was a joke. LOL
Ashley@FoodFitnessFun says
I actually just started reading Kath’s blog and didn’t realize she owned it. Thanks though.
KathEats says
Ashley, welcome, and you’re fine to ask! Matt and I opened a Great Harvest in June 🙂
Ashley@FoodFitnessFun says
Thank you for the nice welcome, Kath. 🙂 I love your blog so far!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
Now I want cinnamon chip bread 🙂
Khushboo says
I love how you don’t skimp on the hummus 🙂
Cait's Plate says
I kind of love plum(b)s like that.
And no matter how many times I make delicious hummus + veggie sandwiches, yours will always win due solely to that delicious bread you have at your disposal!!
Maria says
Love that sandwich! And the cinnamon chip bread makes the best French toast:)
Emma (Namaste Everyday) says
I always feel like I am “drinking” my nectarines, tee-hee 🙂
Margo @ peanut butter trees says
Mmm that cinnamon bread sounds awesome! And by the way, I love the new look of the blog! The photos up top are great.
Kristen, Sweetly says
That thick hummus looks simple and perfect. My most recent purchase is way too garlicky, and I don’t like it. I’ll have to make some at home, I think.
Sorry that I probably missed it by a couple days, but i like the new header! I like how the text looks a lot!!
Amanda- The Nutritionist Reviews says
Cinnamon chip bread sounds awesome! I love cinnamon raisin too.
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
YESS love the new header! The oatmeal looks good 😉
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
This just made me realize I haven’t had a plum all summer! I’ve been in a nectarine/peach rut I guess.
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Yummmmm! I purchase my cinnamon from Costco – you know those massive containers that they have, that normal people look at and think “honestly, who would EVER go through all of that in a lifetime?” Yep, I’m one of those crazy folk that actually buys them AND goes back for more. I think cinnachip bread would be a dangerous item to keep in my house! 😛
Tessa @ Amazing Asset says
AHHH this was the first Great Harvest bread I ever tried and instantly fell in love with the company! Everytime it was in the house, I would come home from school and have a huge piece toasted with butter…. simple perfection 🙂
sara @ real fun food says
I’ve been really in the mood for cinnamon lately. It always seems like a fall spice to me. Maybe it’s the cool summer that’s making me feel like it’s a perpetual fall!
Callie @ The Wannabe Athlete says
Umm…maybe it’s just been a while since I’ve clicked over to your blog out of my Reader (sorry about that!) but I’m loving the new (to me) look! Very pretty.
Caitlyn says
I used to make butt-end sandwiches all the time, just not on GH bread, unfortuantely. They’re a fun way to spruce up the usual sandwich!
The new header looks great!
Lynda @ healthy hoboken girl says
Yeah, love the new look too! Have a wonderful weekend!
Johanna B says
Cinnamon chips are wonderful in any form. Love!
kaila @ healthy helper! says

christina cadden says
That bread looks amazing!
Hilliary @ Happily Ever Healthy says

rumfunandsun says
Man I love cinammon. I could put nothing but that on oats and be happy forever!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Kath the bread looks great but what I really noticed is how crisp and clean your site looks. NICE job!
The header change, muting the color of your “stripe” in the comment reply field when you reply to people, the sidebar areas seem really “cleaned up” and it all just looks great. I know blog renovation and maintenance projects aren’t the most “thrilling” but you nailed it 🙂
KathEats says
Thanks!
Baking N Books says
Do all the boys wear the cute fedora-type hats? 🙂

Marion says
Hello Kath! I have been a pretty avid healthy-living blog reader for a couple of months now and I somehow only just now stumbled upon your site. I love all of your recipes and your outlook on a healthy and happy life. My husband and I actually just moved to Charlottesville this past May (I’m an RN at UVA and getting my master’s at Georgetown) and your C’Ville reviews have been very informative! We are hoping to come and try Great Harvest in the near future! Thanks for your fun and motivational website.
KathEats says
Hi!!! Definitely come to the bakery and say hello! I’m usually here on Monday + Friday afternoons and in and out the other days
Vanessa says
Cinnamon Chip will forever have my heart. So good.
CJ @ http://healthy-happy-whole.com/ says
Cinnamon chip might be my favorite just because it makes such good French toast!!!
Kate (What Kate is Cooking) says
Cinnamon chip is the only GH bread I’ve had and I love it!
Sarah @ Sarah's Modern Bites says
Muscle fatigue shakes are the WORST. I really hate that feeling… my legs get like that after long runs and I usually have to drive afterwards :/
I swear your bread photos get my mind totally fixated on doughy whole wheat carbs! That’s all I want for dinner now! hahaha
Happy Friday!
Elizabeth @ RunWithSneakers says
GH Cinnamon Chip bread is THE BEST! I just can’t buy it too often cause it becomes breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks — that’s it, nothing else, until it’s all gone.
Angel7 says
That bread looks awesome! I would love to have a slice of it!

What would you do if you found out you’re gluten-intolerant or a celiac??!! I’m sensitive to gluten so I limit my intake. Your bread sure looks good.
KathEats says
That would be really really bad given my business. But I suppose I’d have to give it up if I were really sick
Hilary says
I don’t like plums that are that ripe. I haven’t visited in a few days, so sorry if I’m behind the times, but I like the new header!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Can’t go wrong with cinnamon bread!
Hillary says
The cinnamon looks delicious either way ; )
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
You defs have a yummy job haha 🙂
Becky says
The white is good-I used it for french toast last week. However, I LOVE the whole wheat version. It gives you great flavor, but sticks with you longer!
allpointswhole says
I wanna live in cinammon land!!
Katherina @ Zephyr Runs says
right? me too!
jenna k says
i saw a bag of cinnamon chips at the grocery store the other day, and wondered about trying to make my own version of cinnamon chip- since i’m so far away from a GH. maybe a dessert version by putting them in pound cake batter?
Joyce @ Jranola Joyce says
Cinnamon chip bread?!!? THAT SOUNDS SO AMAZING!
Emily@SavoryandSavage says
That cinnamon bread looks delicious. One question – what exactly are cinnamon chips? Is it like chocolate chips but made with cinnamon?
KathEats says
Yep!
Shannon @ My Place In The Race says

The cinna chip sounds sooooo good! I’d request it in white, too. Ww takes some fun out!
Love hummus sandwiches. I can’t get enough lately.
Angie says
I keep trying to convince the Mentor, OH GH to make whole wheat cinnamon chip, but they say it doesn’t sell well enough. I love the white, but I can’t bring myself to buy white bread when there are such wonderful whole wheat breads right next to it. Dakota it is!
Molly @ RDexposed says
That’s my issue with watermelon!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Do cinnamon chips actually exist? I need to find those!
lynn @ the actor's diet says
love that thick glob of hummus – it looks like a patty!

Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
I love cinnamon SO much! That bread looks great 🙂
Bonbon says
The bread looks very hearty and delicious, if I were you, I would be very tempted to have the entire loaf! Kath, I know how much we all love food and it’s so easy to overeat when you’re surrounded by lots and lots of yummy food, how do you control yourself?
KathEats says
It’s very very hard!! I just have to remind myself to take small tastes and that just because it’s there doesn’t mean it doesn’t count
Abby says
Yum! What is that yellow slice in between the bread? A huge amont of hummus or something else??
KathEats says
Hummus!
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
Your bread always looks so delicious! I’m going to have to head to the farmers market when I get back from visiting Kansas City to get some locally made bread!
Maria @ Beautiful Busy Bee says
Sounds like my kind of plum!
Allison says
Cinnamonchip sounds like perfect in the morning! I am a HUGE Great Harvest fan (thank goodness for the loyalty card!) and my favorites are cranberry-orange, apple scrapple, and the traditional honey whole wheat loaves 🙂
