Good morning! I’m sneaking in a post before Matt leaves for work. That’s how it’s done these days!
Yesterday we had our babysitter come, and Mazen had a blast going to the Discovery Museum with her. I was at home working on this recipe for a post! Coming soon : )
I needed to get out of the house by 2 when they returned, so I decided to try out a hot vinyasa class at Hot Yoga Cville.
I had a leftover slice of quiche for a light lunch. I didn’t want to eat too much but definitely needed some protein in my stomach. This worked great! I loved the simplicity of this quiche: just egg, cheese and crust.
Yoga was good – hot always gets a thumbs up – but I missed having music.
We played outside in the yard for a while before I showered up for a birthday party!
Dinner was bites of this and that while the boys ate (sweet potato fries, split pea soup and cheese) until I got to the party and had a few more bites before breaking into the chocolate and wine. My vegetable intake was severely lacking yesterday and I’m aiming to make up for that today!
It was Tori and Hillary’s birthday, and they hosted a red wine and chocolate tasting! Everyone brought a wine to taste blindly. I love blind tastings, and took notes on my favorites. Turns out that 2 of my favorites were California wines and the other 2 were the same bottle from Veritas, a local Cville winery. That bottle ended up as my #1
The chocolate flavors were diverse – highlights were the rosemary flavored, the coffee crunch and a black salt caramel filled!
Love this!
We are enjoying eggs, fruit and toast on this rainy morning before we head out on a day trip!

What a fun idea for a party! I want to host one like that. Chocolate can be healthy, right? And wine!
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
That’s such a good idea for a party– chocolate and red wine! I’m not a huge fan of reds so that would be nice to try a whole bunch of them and find my favorites 🙂

Wine tasting is so fun! What a great idea for a party!
Your yoga class didn’t have any music? Music is a HUGE part of my yoga experience!
Katie @ Live Half Full says
All of your tasting parties are so much! I’m saving up ideas for when we have a bigger house to host parties. 🙂
By the way… where’s that dress from? I love it!!!

Eggs, fruits, yoga and wine. Perfect day:)
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
CHOCOLATE!! Gimme all that chocolate! 🙂
I actually thought your post was going to be about chocolate wine. We have a place that sells chocolate wine and while some of the flavors are really horrendous and disappointing (like the egg nog), some are absolutely delicious (whipped cream). I’m planning on blending some with ice into a sort of chocolate wine drink this summer… but it feels weird somehow to do that with wine. 🙂

Lucky girl, being surrounded by all that chocolate!!

That is such a good picture of you and your little guy! And what a perfect idea for a party 🙂

What did people think of the Olive & Sinclair bar? Made in Nashville, my hometown! Also love Chocolove bars — I spot one on the table!
Ingredient1 says
Have you ever tried the Olive & Sinclair caramels? They are out of this world! And ditto on the Chocolove…

OK, I love the dress too. Can you share info about it?
About yoga, I also used to miss music in classes without it, but now I might prefer music-free. It seems like music can distract from the breath. I also used to say “no way!’ to hot yoga, but I have changed my tune! How long have you been practicing?
Rachel @ Lou Lou Belle says
That quiche (ESPECIALLY the crust!!!) looks divine! Yum!

Black salt caramel filled chocolate sounds amazingggg

Red Star is my absolute favorite too! I’ve been told that’s because it’s a “solo cup wine”…might be true haha. Mazen is adorable as always, if you are ever in a pinch and need a sitter, let me know! 🙂
KathEats says
Haha it’s very drinkable! I do often need sitters 🙂
Alex @ True Femme says
Ok I really need to have a chocolate and wine party. That’s just too fun!

Hi kath! I’m a longtime reader and enjoy your blog. Would you be open to doing a post about the “behind the scenes” workings of being a work at home mother? Such as how you make things work, schedules, etc. I think you are inspirational as a working mama and I would be so interested in a post like that! I’m sure many people would be 🙂 thanks for taking the time to read !

Mazen is looking so much like a boy (versus a toddler) these days! Fun!
