In addition to our anniversary….we are now under contract on the house!!!
And are supposed to close in T-28 days. Which means we must be outta here in like …26 days!
Holy moly.
It was an exciting but SUPER busy afternoon. We can’t decide when we should move to Cville, where we should go in the meantime, when we should go to Montana for Great Harvest training…crazy!
Thank goodness I have my other half to help out! He made me a cute card for our big day –
Hand painted! I love what he did with the colors
I got home from work and found a loaf of bread waiting for me..
Arnold // Oroweat is sponsoring the 2010 Healthy Living Summit and wanted us to test out some of their new products.
But as Matt said, the bread smelled pretty good.
I toasted up a slice for snack, with some Nuttzo PF and honey drizzles.
The organic strawberries I had on the side were all about real food
It was a great, filling snack.
Snacktime was followed by intense worktime and packlunchtime and signingcontrattime and shortly we were headed back out the door for dinner!
To meet Caitlin and Kristien (who is totally awesome!) and Emily and Casey (who is also totally awesome 😉 )
C+K had ordered some champagne for the table in honor of our anniversary!! Thanks guys!!!
Cheers to three couples in transition and in love!
Matt and I also brought a bottle of wine from our rack – from Ledson, a winery we LOVED on our honeymoon. Matt brought it back for me from his trip to Sonoma this winter.
I had 2 smallish glasses during dinner. And 2 smallish glasses of champagne! Maybe my tolerance is growing!?
We dined at LuLu’s, a quaint yet flavorful restaurant in Plaza-Midwood. The food was EXCELLENT.
I got the Mimosa Salad with greens, candied nuts, fruit and BRIE CROUTONS!! It was a big salad too – I ate almost all of it!
For our entree, Matt and I split the Alaskan Salmon with Curried Rice and Asparagus. It was quite delicious. He gave me about 1/3 of the plate. [We had asked for it to be split into two plates, but I think that request got lost in the shuffle]
But the highlight of the night was definitely the Garlicky Escarole with Parmesan!!! It was amazing!!!!!!! Maybe there were hidden lumps of butter, but I ate almost all of it!
And you know we couldnt’ turn down wedding cake 🙂 We got a strawberry short cake layer cake. It was good, but it wasn’t our wedding cake good!
We ended the night with some ghostly shots to prove that Caitlin was actually here!!
We turned green…
And then my arm turned to rubber…
Goodnight!

Your dinner looks, really, really good. I just opened my Nuttzo PF from your Open Sky store. 🙂 I like it a lot. You’re completely right about the crunch lover’s delight. It’s super crunchy and it has the perfect amount a salt. It was pretty expensive though, so I’m glad that part the money goes to a good cause.

Hi Kath!
Happy Anniversary!! Looks like a lovely dinner.
I am a relatively new reader, and I’m still trying to catch up on what’s going on – so you are moving to Charlottesville, VA to open a bakery, but you live near Charlotte right now? And Caitlin is moving to Charlotte? All of these Charlotte names and people moving has me confused!! I could use living in Australia as an excuse, but the truth is that I am American, so it’s a pretty poor excuse to be confused 😉
Kath says
It is rather confusing, isn’t it 🙂
But you are right!! Moving from Charlotte, NC to Charlottesville, VA to open a Great Harvest Bread Co where Matt now works. And Caitlin is moving here to open a business with her husband as well.

Amanda @ Cakes and Ale says
Love the card!
My husband always makes me homemade cards for Valentines Day, my birthday, and our anniversary. The reason is because he made me a card on our first V-day together using colored pencils! I thought it was hilarious, and so it stuck…
Also – Cristalino! I’ve had that sparkling wine before and it’s actually a really tasty, good value bubbly!
Amber K says
I aboslutely love Caitlin’s blog. How much fun to get to hang with her!

I frequent Plaza Midwood a lot but always shy away from Lulu’s because of its outside appearance. I will definitely try it since you had such a great meal there.
