Our trip to wine country was a fun success! Anna came back with a bottle of red and white 8)
I had 2 tastes and a handful of oyster crackers at the winery 😳
We didn’t leave the winery until noon and stopped by Davidson on the way back so she could see my college and we determined when we were almost back to Charlotte that we were both extremely cranky from hunger! Our pumpkin oatmeal did a great job tiding us over though. We finally got to EarthFare around 1:30 and piled up bowls of salad.
I had the usual tidbits of this and that and can’t really remember them all today – except the highlights: that fabulous salmon, a falafel ball, a grape leaf and that awesome butternut squash salad.
And then the husband (who was working) surprised us with samples of pecan pie and soy whipped cream (which tasted like regular whipped cream with a soy milk aftertaste)!!
KERF Policy: when presented with a free piece of pie, do not turn down!
We also enjoyed a few cheese samples, a coffee sample and a bread sample!
We are now enjoying hot tea and are looking forward to a dinner party at our friends Kate and Nate’s house tonight!!!

Looks like a great day! 🙂
I concur about the free pie, heh.
Kath, I created a super nutritious muffin last night that I thought you might like to try out!
Its called my Banana-pumpkin-bran & oats muffins! They only have about 105 calories and 3 grams of fibre each. They would be a great pre-workout snack. 🙂

Oh She Glows,

mags,
Shame only because I was driving and wasn’t planning on tasting – but we walked around the winery afterwards, so it was fine. Don’t worry, I’m drinking tonight at dinner!

Salad looks great, but I must tell you that I just finished lunch and I had your Buternut Squash and Kale soup! I used ground turkey and added some onions to the base of carrots and celery. It was fabulous!!! Thank you for the idea. Also, it was my first time trying kale.

Enjoy your time with your cousin and the vino tonight, Kath! You did a much better job at the winery than I would have, I would have probably had a glass and walked for an hour afterwards.
Kath says
carolyn ,
So glad you liked it!!
