Hiya from the middle of Virginia!! We’re on the way home. I’m studying dietetics.
Before we left, we walked downtown one final time (for now!) and picked up some sandwiches for the ride from Bagby’s.
I got the California, modified of course.
Grilled tofu with swiss cheese, sprouts, tomato, cuc, and avocado on multigrain cardboard bread.
We shared VA sweet potato chips on the side.
And upon our delight, we found cookies in our bags! Sadly they weren’t that great.
But luckily I had snagged a homemade cookie from our inn’s jar!! Yum.
Can’t stopping thinking about our new house and how I want to decorate and organize. I’m hoping to make it as Real Simple and Cottage Living (RIP 🙁 ) as possible.
2 hours to go!!
P.S. The Android WordPress app ROCKS!!!!!!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
Oh my gosh. I want that sandwich!!!
Have a good drive 🙂
Janna (Janna's Keeping it Real) says
Drive safe (or I suppose ride, since you’re studying!).
I wish I could say the same about the iPhone app!:/
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
You know what is awesome…one day in the near future, someone will be snacking on some Great Harvest sandwiches from your place on their way home! Have a safe trip and good luck on the studying!
Meagan says
There you are again “no onions” HAHA!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
i remember when we bought our house i was always dreaming of how to decorate and organize! it was so fun, but sadly when we moved in none of it happened… 🙁 i can imagine yours would though!
Dorry says

Your sandwich looks super tasty! Enjoy the ride home and enjoy mentally decorating your new place!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
I read the title at first and thought it said “Cat” food. I was so confused.
That sandwich is amazing sounding. I love places that offer tofu in place of lunch meat since I can’t eat it.
Jakie says
LOL youre such a bread-snob, I love it!
Im a coffee snob 🙂
Annie@stronghealthyfit says
That’s one big cookie! Your sandwich looks yummy.
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
I definitely believe the cardboard bit for that bread. It does not look too good. The rest does, though.
Congrats again on the new set of digs 😀
Jessica @ Rawtumn says
That sandwich looks great! Have a safe ride home!
Sandy says
Looking forward to having that Great Harvest bread next time we are visiting Charlottesville. I’m thinking how cute to do a Real Simple / Pottery Barn house, just like their catalog only streamlined and uncluttered. 🙂

Any chance of you doing another techie teaching for the Android WordPress ap? My husband just got the Droid (and I’m getting one in August) but I can not get WordPress to work on his phone at all and it’s driving me mad!
Kath says
Bummer 🙁 Not sure how to help. Does it have an error? Or just not publish?
emily says
When I try to sign into my wordpress account (on the internet, not via an app – I don’t even know how to find that app!) it says that the site cannot connect.
Kath says
It might have to do with the fact that you have a free WordPress account. Or perhaps you’re logging in with the wrong login stuff? I’d try uninstalling and reinstalling and trying a handful of different usernames
emily says
Thanks for the advice, I didn’t even think about the free account thing. I guess I’ll have to wait and see once I go official later this summer 🙂
Mary Frances says
I don’t have a Droid, but if you are typing ‘wordpress.com’ to get on the internet, maybe just try ‘wordpress’ without the ‘.com’ and see if it comes up. It’s worth a try. Interested to know if that worked.
emily says
MF – WordPress will load, but the page won’t load after I enter my sign in info. (sorry to be mucking up your comments page Kath!)
Brittany says
Wave when you drive by Richmond!
So excited that you all found a place. 🙂
Kathy W. says
Cottage Living was one of my favorite magazines. I think I saved every issue from it (very short) run!
Can’t wait to see the inside of your house! I’m imagining some built-ins, wood floors, etc. Love Craftsman-style houses!
Kathy W. says
oops, *its*.
Amanda (The Nutritionist Reviews) says
That is so exciting that you guys found a place to live! The town seems like a place that you will love!
Angie says
Enjoy the drive. I just moved to Cleveland and found out there’s a Great Harvest. Went today and bought pizza dough and sandwich bread–can’t wait to try it!!
tanyasdaily says
I love vegetable sandwiches, the more the better.
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
The bread looks like basic store bought bread, the bad kind. That’s to bad.
Exercise and Eat says
Do you have Swype on your Android?! If not, download the app now!
Kath says
Looks like Beta is closed 🙁 But sounds really cool!
Erin says
Great sandwich! I was excited to discover that we DO have a Great Harvest here. There’s another fantastic bakery within walking distance where I normally buy bread but my roommate is in love with GH challah and cookies so there’s always something around the apartment. 😉
Kerri @ Kerri Turns into a Zombie says
Tofu for lunch. 🙂 Enjoy the car ride.
The Wife of a Dairyman says
The Android app….I wonder if they have other blog site apps. I’ll have to find out when we switch over in three months.
Can’t wait to see the inside of your new digs:) Cheers!
Kathi says
Enjoy the decorating! One of my other favorite blogs is younghouselove, awesome decorating ideas. You’d like this couple, and they have a brand new baby! 🙂
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Aww I hate it when a good sandwich is ruined by bad bread! 🙁
I love cottage-y styled rooms. I can’t wait to see how you decorate your house!
Chelsey says
I can’t wait for you to decorate either! make sure to post pics!!!
Leanne says
So jealous of your app – I remember that you used to have an iPhone, any tips for the wordpress app? Can you really only upload images at the end of your blog post?
Kath says
Yeah, it is annoying not to be able to insert them, although you can if you save as a draft and then copy and paste..
BroccoliHut says
Haha, your ordering style sounds very similar to mine–no mayo, no cheese please!
I am getting ready to move into my first apartment in Raleigh, so I am scouring Real Simple too! I feel the same way about Cottage Living–it’s such a shame that it’s no longer in publication!
Ann Liu says
I LOVE REAL SIMPLE! It has such great style and the layout is so clean and organized! Definitely check out younghouselove.com for some inspiration 🙂
Wei-Wei says
I love your sandwich. 😀 Too bad the bread wasn’t good, though :S
