Half of us went camping this weekend! And the other half stayed cozy in our cribs : )
Friday Taco Night
On Friday night we were a little unorganized for dinner, and our neighbors asked if we wanted to hop on some Brazos Tacos take-out. Don’t have to ask me twice! Brazos has a great order online feature that made it super easy for us to order and our neighbor picked it up for us. Two families, one stone!

Saturday
Thomas and Mazen departed at 7:45am for Mazen’s first camping trip! They were joined by Thomas’s good friend Kyle and his son, Atlee. They set up camp next to the James River and used James River Runners for the canoe rental and shuttle. They did tons of fishing too!
Birch + Mommy Saturday
B and I had a very low key weekend. We played at home, went to the grocery store, and skipped naps!
I had a smoothie for breakfast, farro salad for lunch, and a Roots bowl for dinner with some girlfriends!
We had a little mom party and got the babies together.
After putting B to bed, I watched some TV and headed up to bed to find a big spider in my room! This is the face of someone confronting her fears and sucking it up with the vacuum. The vacuum then slept outside because if you’ve ever watched a horror movie you know things come back to life and haunt you down!
Sunday
It was lonely without the big boys here! B and Gus and I hung around all morning.
I made Emily’s rice cooker baked apples for Birch. He wasn’t too into them based on their appearance, but once I got him to taste them with a spoon he was a fan. I LOVE them myself! Chopped apples + 1/3 cup water + cinnamon + Quick Cook setting.
Mazen had s’mores for breakfast. Lucky boy! They got home around 10 and had a great report.
Maybe next time Birch and I will be brave and join them. I’d like more than a hole in the ground or a porta john though! Running water is a must for me.

I dislike spiders! We just spent 3 weeks between our two daughter’s homes in British Columbia. Saw a few spiders and was not happy. They grow them big there.

Spending time outdoors is the BEST.
What a great weekend for Mazen! His smile says it all!
I hope the week ahead is a great one for you and yours!

Oh I never would vacuum bugs-I fear they will lay eggs and will multiply when I grab the vacuum next time! I always run for the windex or spray bottle and take then down that way! Then I see that they will NOT be coming back! Love the camping picks, so fun for kids!!

Um…zoom in on that black and white pic…is that a spider ghost in the background?? haha!!!
KathEats says
HAHAHHAAHA omg what is that!!!???? Another spider I missed!? Ahhhhh!!!!
KathEats says
OK I went to the original again. It’s the lid to a bubble bath but the bottle is clear so you can’t see it in the B+W version!

LOL!! I’m still laughing over the Mom ghost pic saga, too!

We camp a lot, but I require real toilets and access to showers. 😉

I bet Mazen had the best time ever. Did Birch bump his little head? Looks like a lump on his forehead. Poor little guy.

The spider thing made me laugh because I am exactly the same way. You’d think a grown woman who can handle a class full of teenagers could at least have the courage to take down a spider, but maaaaan it’s hard to do!

I think some of us have biological reactions to pests (snakes/spiders/etc) that aren’t rational!
