I never set my alarm last night!!
But lucky me, I woke up at 5:52, which is probably when I would have crawled out of bed anyways. Close one! Guess my mind if gearing up for vacation mode 😉
Felt like a SIAB this AM!
TF’s Sunflower Butter made an excellent drizzle!! My coconut milk is hard from the air conditioning and I didn’t feel like melting it. The Sunflower butter didn’t magic shell for me, but it was still nice and creamy 🙂
The Vita-Mix
[Yes, I brought the Vita-mix with me during the move!!]
- 1/4 cup dry rolled oats
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1 scoop Vega Vanilla Chai
- Handful ice
- Nature’s Path granola with some coconut mixed in
Cafe. You will have to excuse the repetition of bowls and mugs for the next few weeks!! I never thought to bring any with me for variety’s sake 🙂
I miss my iced tea spoons SO MUCH!! They give a leverage that a regular spoon just can’t do. Should have kept the Rosanna’s out at least.
In the shower this AM I was reminded that this is my next-to-last early morning shower [for now! who knows what will happen when we open the bakery!]
Yipee!!!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
It must be so fun counting down the days til the big change!! When does the bakery officially open?
Have a good day 🙂
Kath says
Hoping for November!?
Cassie @ Tasteful Tales says
Wow… so much exciting news! Best of luck. Just read about your lunch yesterday. I love how you refer to them as “The Hangry’s” so cute. Have a good day 🙂
Sarah says
It’s amazing how dishes can really add to the quality of our breakfasts. I have favorite dishes that I prefer to eat from, and I could swear that the meals are just more satisfying when I use them!
Courtney @ Three Months says
Oh, I just love Trader Joe’s sunflower butter – such a good flavor!
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Gahhh I hate not setting my alarm, but you are right – my body usually wakes up at the right time anyway!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I’ve done that before with my alarm… it freaked me out!
Have a great day!!!! Almost vacation time!
Cara says
Looks like a great start to your day!
Have a great one.
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
I’m going on a beach vacation next week, and I’m bringing my Vitamix with me. It’s like my baby 🙂
Have a great day!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Not waking up to the sounds of a buzzing alarm is the greatest. Unless you need it, that is! haha 😛
Jess @ Jessica is Getting Fit says
I’ve done that before with my alarm clock. It’s funny how our bodies usually wake us up anyway!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
That internal alarm comes in handy some times! Have a great day Kath!
Jenny says
Have a great day! Hope you’re enjoying the countdown!
Hannah says
I was wondering if opening the bakery will mean you start getting up at 3am with Matt… eep!!
Kath says
Probably sometimes!
Becky says
I’m so impressed by your internal alarm clock! I would definitely have slept through if I didn’t set an alarm!
Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life says
Haha, I definitely would not have woken up on my own without the alarm – I have a terrible internal alarm clock!
YAY for fewer and fewer early AM showers! 😀 haha
A Teenage Gourmet (Sami) says
Mmm, this looks creamy and delicious! Do you mean coconut milk, or coconut butter? Have a great day Kath!
Kath says
Coconut butter!
Kristin (Salty Tooth) says
If I had a Vita, I would bring it everywhere with me. You know, places I would really need it. Like the gym, church, Target, etc. 🙂
Brittany @ A Healthy Slice of Life says
Who needs coffee when I’ll bet you’re running on pure adrenaline! There seems to be so many fun, exciting things going on for you right now. Congrats!
Jess @ NZ Girl Runs says
If I have somewhere to go I can wake myself up on time, sometimes. I would never test it with something important, but I have done it a couple of times! It is good that your body clock is set and isn’t letting you down!
Christena says
So excited for you almost being finished with school. I can tell you are looking forward to a less regimented schedule!
Kerri says
Interesting breakfast mix. Internal clocks can be quite the lifesavers. I think mine has helped me make it to the airport several times.
Chelsey says
I am so glad to find someone else who is so particular about their spoons as me! I only have three spoons I like to use – they’re cheap, flimsy, but they’re my favorite. I will wash them if they are dirty and need one. 🙂
foodandfarm says
need to try the sunflower butter! are you vacationing at Bald Head Island again? I remember you have posted about that before. We are going to Oak Island the first of Aug. and I was wondering if Bald Head would be worth the day trip?
Kath says
Definitely!! It’s very cool and island-like 🙂
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
Ahh — so close to being done!! I have a tendency to do that…it’s like my body is set for the alarm – even if the alarm isn’t. I find myself often waking up exactly a minute before my alarm is supposed to go off, too.
sweetersalt says
Love the counter tops!
Allie says
That SIAB looks so filling!
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
Yay! You’re almost done Kath!!!!
Jenn says
I am new to reading your blog. How do you make the SIAB? Which ingredients do you blend together and which are toppings?
Kath says
I blend the top ingredients and top with granola and nut butter.
Maria says
Ha!! “next-to-last early morning shower” I think the exact same ways about things like that! Wow, I’m so excited for you!
Kellie says
I use little spoons too and when I was on vacation this weekend I had a hard time eating with a regular size spoon. It’s funny what we get used to.
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I really need to try Sunflower Seed Butter! It seems like everyone in the blog world has but me!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
why do you build me up (build me up) buttercup baby…
what an amazing breakfast! i love eating out of big mugs 🙂
Bee @ Picture of Health says
That breakfast looks absolutely delicious and refreshing! Yum!
Marissa says
Oh my… that’s way too early for me! But those countertops are gorgeous. Hahah, we’re shopping for our own granite, so I always notice peoples’ countertops now!
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
I can see why you wouldn’t be able to go without your vita mix, they are so amazing.
Callie says
That SIAB looks good. 🙂 Especially with the sunflower butter. Sadly, I’ve only tried the self ground peanut butter they sell at Whole Foods.
Wei-Wei says
I love eating with small spoons 😉 Helps with the intuitive eating! 😀 Hope you have a great day today, buttercup! (Who was always my favourite powerpuff girl, by the way…)

Super Mommie says
Those spoons are pretty. I love measuring spoons myself.
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
ha ha – of COURSE you brought the vitamix with you. i would’ve too!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
It is strange to see the same plates and stuff but kind of nice since I don’t have a large collection and all my food posts are on the same plates.
maxinthegym says
Haha once I set my alarm but I didn’t change my watch to suit the time difference so I slept through my entire workout and most of the day! At least you woke yourself up 😀
Stacie @ Imperfectly Healthy says
I’ve been meaning to try both SIAB and overnight oats since the warm temps have shown up! They both look really good!
Stacey @ Tipping the (Kitchen!) Scales says
Good luck on opening the bakery. It must seem like a pretty big life change!
Kelly says
You decided to take the Vitamix along! hehe. Good choice!
Alyssa says
That is so awesome you and Matt are opening a bakery! Where and when?? So exciting!
My sisters and I wanted to open up a GF Bakery and Cafe. Not sure when that brainchild will actually be able to take form, but it sure is exciting to dream about it!
