Right after we end triceps in Body Pump, Vanessa always says “Stretch those broken wings!”
My wings are broken! Class was particularly hard today on the upper body – but I kept it lighter on the lower since I’m running in the Charlottesville Women’s 4 Miler tomorrow morning!
Not too excited about getting up at 5 on a Saturday, but am excited about running in our city’s most famous race!
Recipage (and my friends Emily + Casey!) sent me their new branded shirt – “Original Content” with RECIpage on the back. It’s American Apparel – my torso has never felt a shirt so soft! <3 my Recipage.
Sandwich alert!! I like to keep Jenn on her toes with interesting sandwich combos ; ) Today’s order sheet read: 2/3 sandwich with cheddar, veggies and hummus as a spread.
How would YOU interpret that!?
I’m really into cheddar cheese these days!
On the side – a plumb and an apricot. The ape was on its last leg – wrinkles, mush and all!
Matt just went home to nap. I’m holding down the fort until this afternoon, then biking to pick up my race packet and then back downtown to see Faith in a dance performance!!
Suzanne @ continuing my education says
Enjoy the race! I will be in Cville, but gave up my spot because I am still injured 🙁 Don’t go out to fast, the first part is down hill! Can’t wait to read your recap!
Khushboo says
Ohh this post has got me craving a sandwich for lunch tomo, good thing I got some cheddar at home!
melissa says
Looks like a delicious sandwich. Have a good race!!!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Yummm cheddar. Never paired that with hummus but that sounds good!
Lara @ TresLaLa says
I love 4 mile races! 5Ks seem too short, 10Ks seem too long, and the two 1/2 marathons I’ve done were just ridiculous. 4 or 5 miles = just right. Enjoy!
Hillary says
I need some GH bread in my life. This post just made me want it hardcore.
Baking N Books says
Okay…I’m slow…what’s with the 2/3?! Good luck on your race – 5 a.m – not for me 😉 If I ever made it to your shop, I’m gunning for that sandwich. And a brownie.
Dana says
Me too! I wish GH bread was local.
Rosa - Fitness, Food, Fulfilled says

haha I love your specific order. Looks like she interpreted it pretty well. Have fun at the dance performance, I love love watching dance. I take modern dance classes through my college and we are often required to see several performances to write reviews on and many of them are very engaging and inspiring, it’s a beautiful art form.
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
I haven’t done ReciPage with my recipes. Looked into it..decided that’s another project for another…millennium. When I dont have FT motherhood & FT job and can upload them all! Wish there were more hours in the day!
Your tshirt is sooo cute! 🙂 And I love American Apparel. SO SOFT as you said!
Emily@SavoryandSavage says
So is one whole sandwich too big of a portion? I find it hard to finish an entire sandwich sometimes.
Have fun at the race tomorrow.
KathEats says
Re. Sandwiches: ours are huge!! Sometimes 2/3 is all one needs.

I love how even though body pump has to follow a certain format, each teacher is so unique! Its those little sayings and tweaks that make your class special!
Mabel says
I’ve been a longtime lurker on the KERF website and I finally wanted to say hi!
I love your triple daily posts, oatmeal posts and motivating me to live healthy. I know that you go to a lot of the bodypump classes and I just wanted to introduce you to this site I’ve been using
www.bodyrock.tv
It’s pretty popular with subscribers from all over the world doing her exercises which are only 15mins long. but it is SUPER hard…because you set your own determination I guess.
I do find her pics a littleeee bit well…out there (you’ll understand if you see them). But great exercises when you don’t have time!
Oh well, I am starting to rant. Keep up the good work!
KathEats says
Thanks for sharing!! I’ve heard of that – need to get on board!
Sarah @ Sarah's Modern Bites says
I have seriously been sitting here trying to decipher the 2/3… I feel like I am looking at some puzzle where the answer is staring right at me! haha 🙂
Have FUN running tomorrow! I am living through runners right now as I am nursing a serious running injury :/ Enjoy every moment of it! 😀
Mary says
Good luck at your race tomorrow!
Erin Shmidt says

Cheddar is my favorite cheese behind goat– so much flavor! And the sharper the better 🙂
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love working the triceps during BodyPUMP and seeing the members and participants lovin’ the burn 🙂 We don’t get the triceps enough in the weight room, I think–so BP is good for that!
Love me some hummus and veg on a good sandwich!!
Karis (Karis' Kitchen) says
Ha, my torso felt short as well when I tried on my new Recipage t-shirt…and I’m 5’9″!!
Jil @ Big City, Lil' Kitchen says
Love cheddar – the good stuff has so much flavor!! and now I have “Take These Broken Wings” by Mr. Mister in my head. 🙂
Emily says
I’ll be up at 5 tomorrow too and be thinking how jealous I am that you will be running and I’ll be working…but such is life 🙂 That sandwich combo sounds so great! Enjoy your Friday night and good luck tomorrow!
Tina says
I’ll be running (well, mostly walking) the 4 Miler with my 9 year old tomorrow. Will Great Harvest be giving out bread?
KathEats says
Unfortunately no, we wanted to!! Panera had an exclusive 🙁
Say hi if you see me!
Tina says
Bummer! I’m sure you were done long before me and the 9 year old. We did some strolling on the hills, and finished in 50 minutes. Not bad, considering that the 9 year old did no training, and I hadn’t run since mid-August. I hope you enjoyed your first 4 Miler experience.
KathEats says
Nice work!! I had a great time!
Lindsey says
Getting up @ 5 on a Saturday to run?! Ugh, I’d rather snuggle with my hubs anyday!
Hannah says
Hmm, what will I love more today? The shirt, or the plum? Decisions…
Constance says
