Here’s a recap of my 42nd and Birch’s 6th birthdays!
Katie and I share a bday weekend!
It’s been a big week of birthdays ending with my dad’s 70th birthday today!! Happy bday dad! We have a full house this weekend celebrating him. But for this recap, let’s rewind back to last Friday night – October 25th!
Birthday Eve
We had a family party for me on Friday night with my in-laws and the boys. And actually, two of Mazen’s tween friends were here for a sleepover, too! Thomas got a princess cake from Albemarle Baking Co, and we enjoyed pumpkin beer and puzzles.
Bday Breakfast
I went to my favorite gym class on Saturday morning and then came home to make a delicious brunch. We had bran muffins from ABC as well!
Birthday Bar Crawl
I spent the next little bit getting ready for a birthday bar crawl! Around 3pm, a crew of friends came over to pregame before we walked downtown – all in costumes – for a bar crawl. As promised, I went as a Scorpio!
We had Prosecco and a cheese board (and some cake!) before heading downtown.
The boys dressed up, too, and Princess Leia fit right in!
Thomas broke out the Beetlejuice costume and took his role very seriously : )
We had pirates, a tech bro, watermelon sugar (ha!), King Fabi, Wonder Woman, and a skeleton.
At Whiskey Jar, we met Milk and Cookies, Little Red Riding hood, and 80s rockers.
Old Fashioned lovers
Eventually, the scorpion lollipops got opened. And two of the scorpions got eaten!!
We played a lot of fun games and had dinner at Brightside.
In case you are wondering, I was sober at the end of the night and in bed by 11 : ) We party, but we don’t party too hard!
Birch’s Party
On Sunday, I had a soccer game and then we had a gorgeous afternoon for a small party for Birch with a few of his classmates.
Obviously, at age 6 it was Minecraft themed : ) We had gorgeous weather!
Happy 6!
Birch is Six
“Don’t smile. Try not to smile. Definitely don’t smile!”
Six is the age when this dude got his attitude! Haha. He’s so cool. He wears this hat to school every day!
Kindergarten Classroom Party
Line Dancing Class
So back to the reason we knew the Thriller dance. Sean and I taught a line dancing class at ACAC last week! Everyone came in their best Western attire and we first learned the dance from Footloose.
And then we taught a version of Thriller as a line dance. There was a demo first with props!
Everyone did such an amazing job!
Halloween
Hope everyone had a very happy Halloween!
