Happy Friday!! I’m all about yogurt bowls with granola this summer. I’ve been rotating between Greek yogurt and traditional (sometimes I prefer the runnier texture of traditional) and mixing up my fruits. This bowl had chopped nectarine and blueberries and some Love Grown chocolate crunch on top.
Mazen was at a camp recently that was biking distance away, so each morning I biked with him to school. I only recently dusted off my own bike, which embarrassingly, I hadn’t used in a year, so that I could join him now that he’s more confident and speedy on the two wheeler.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed those early morning bike rides! At the risk of being corny cornier than usual, the birds were chirping, the air was still dewy, and there were wonderful summer smells of flowers and frying bacon. While I have a love/hate relationship with getting up before sunrise and going to the gym, I always love getting a little outside activity first thing in the morning. Something I can do right after coffee and a little breakfast like biking or walking. I would love to keep the habit up through the fall if I can.
I want to be just like this guy when I grow up:
“Ughhhh, cars man, whyyyyy”
“Biker’s rights!”
Portlandia gets me every time, and that is one of my all-time favorite clips!
Hope your weekend be like:

Oh wow, now I want to go on a bike ride! Sadly, since I live in a TINY apartment, I had to throw mine away when I moved. Hopefully I can own one again in the future. The morning bike rides sound so fun!

I’d*highly* recommend making the trip to Charlotte, NC some time to take a CyclingSavvy class. I think that’s the closest location to you, and the local instructor, Pam Murray, is amazing! Happy biking!

Cool! If I’m ever there visiting, I’ll have to go there and back to Y2 Yoga!

Yes to biking places! I bike to work daily, as I’m lucky to live about 2.5 miles away. It’s one of the best parts of my day, even if it’s really hot, cold or rainy. I enjoy the break from being at a desk for work and the extra money saved, as we have to pay to park where I work.

I couldn’t even tell you the last time I rode my bike! I got a new (used) one from a family member but it needs new tires and I have been dragging my feet for the last couple years to replace them. Now, I’m living in Michigan and the bike is in my parent’s garage in Illinois…talk about ridiculous. ha!

I’ve just moved closer to work and promised myself to commute by bike 3x each week. I arrive to work awake, and have time to process and leave work behind at the end of the day on a 20min. long hill.
