Happy weekend!! Popping in on this sunny-but-cold Saturday to say hello and share our fun so far.
Last night was a Friday Fitness Happy Hour at the gym. The theme was Wine & Design! You may have a Wine & Design studio near you, but last night they brought the studio to us.
We started the event with a hard 30 minute speed workout led by the famous Chris. We did a mix of kettlebells and athletic conditioning ’till we were tired from head to toe. At the end, we split into groups and had a few representatives compete for top crown. I was nominated in the “hold a tricep pushup as long as you can” round – and won!
Afterwards we enjoyed sandwiches from Great Harvest, lots of wine, cookies and painting, of course.
And when the painting stations got too crowded – puzzles! This one was impossible and Grace and I did not finish!
Canvases were set up in stations and everyone had the chance to paint something. At the end they put them together into one big masterpiece.
I came home and took a long bubble bath : )
This morning Mazen and I had smoothies in bowls.
A mix of banana, oats, greek yogurt, milk and peanut butter. My little bed head boy!
After breakfast we went to the gym. Matt met us there for a quick workout and then we all hopped in the pool.
Mazen lovingly calls my ponytail “Big Hair.” Well today in the pool he shouted “Big Hair is swimming!” Ha! He is very fond of my hair and uses it as a security blanket. I find it very sweet. (This is why I wear my hair in a ponytail all.the.time. too!)
We came home for lunch and I made a big salad with greens, hearts of palm, leftover brussels sprouts, two kinds of cheese and smoked trout on top. And those little nuggets on the right are some wine crackers I bought at First Colony last week! SO GOOD – sweet and crunchy!
M and I relaxed hand in hand on the couch for a while. I introduced him to Wee Sing Together, which I loved when I was young. He loved it!
A little art project later in the afternoon. We have a mud room in our lower level that works perfectly as a kids art studio!
I’m looking forward to leftover soup for dinner and painting an accent wall in my closet tonight!

It always amazes me how much you fit in to weekends!!! 🙂 The gym night sounds like so much fun! We had a two hour 60s to the 90s spin class this morning followed by tea/coffee and my offering..the ultimate iced raw brownies.

Do you ever get bad digestion going into a workout right after eating? I find that’s my problem!

Whoa.. Did you reformat your blog? Reading on iPhone and every other paragraph is an ad with another few lines of ad text.. Hard to follow the actual blog content 🙁

Sounds so fun. I love hearing about all of the cool events going on in C-ville – sounds like such a cool town.
We went on a long drive yesterday through the mountains and stopped at a diner on the way home. Gotta love weekends!

I loved the Wee Sing videos! Showed a few clips of one to my husband who wasn’t familiar with them. He thinks I’m nuts when I go around singing Wee Sing songs! Soon I’ll introduce my son (he’s not quite two yet and he only watches Sesame Street right now).
Sara says
PS what bib does Mazen have on? My son refuses bibs! We’ve tried so many types!
KathEats says
Oxo tot! He knows it’s use and actually asks for it to keep his shirt clean

OMG!!! Wee sing… I loved that too when I was younger. That is great that you have Mazen watching the “classics.” My son who is the same age watches Mister Rogers from back in the day (along with Daniel Tiger) and its so sweet to see him watch these shows from back then.
