Man I slept hard!! I had tons and tons of crazy dreams and I think I was out from 10:30p to 8:30a. Feeling totally recharged today!
Also was excited to be back in a kitchen making breakfast 🙂 Coffee and oats! Matt was in charge of the coffee, me the oats.
For 2.5 servings (mom had half of one):
- 2/3 + 1/4 cups oats
- 1 cup water, 2/3 cup milk
- 1 big banana
- Craisins
- Vanilla
- Pinch salt
Toppings: Opera Girl’s Granola and Naturally Nutty Vanilla Almond Butter that my mom produced from her pantry!!
With cafe
Grammy fed the Bears Lucky Charms before I woke up! Tsk tsk.
[If you think her posts are funny, you should hear her just chat about them live! Hilarious.]

Yay for the return of awesome, not mass-produced, oatmeal! I was just wondering, do you guys get Crunchola granola in the States? They’ve just come out with a berry and vanilla one here that I’m finding goes wonderfully with whipped oats 🙂
Kath says
I haven’t heard of that kind!

Great interview, Kath. After reading your blog for so long, it was fun to watch you on a television clip, and to hear your voice! (I’m in a building with high-speed internet; since we have satellite at home, it’s not usually fast enough to watch videos online.)
Amanda (The Nutritionist Reviews) says
Your oats look so yummy today : )
Heather says
I just had a bowl of instant oatmeal as a snack – but it looked no where near as good.
It is always so nice to have a great night sleep – it is amazing how much better you feel.

Kath, your interview was so inspiring! I’ve been a regular reader for awhile now and haven’t really commented, but your interview inspired me. I hope you keep blogging for years to come, because I always look forward to reading every entry at the end of my day 🙂
Kylie says
This breakfast looks heavenly! I first discovered Naturally Nutty on summer vacation last year in Traverse City, Michigan. Unfortunately, they don’t sell it in West Virginia (at least that I’ve been able to find!). If anyone knows of any venues closer than Michigan that I could buy it in, please let me know 🙂
Keep blogging, Kath–I love checking in every day!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
There’s nothing better than getting back to a home cooked breakfast after being away on a trip! I start going through major oatmeal/Kashi cereal withdrawal after a few days without them! 😛

That granola looks like it makes a nice oatmeal topping.

How fun that you were interviewed! Your blog is a great example of what happens with dedication and a good attitude.
