These recipes came to me in a dream. I think I was sitting in a vineyard in France, sipping champagne and eating goats’ cheese rolled in lavender. I woke up thinking of all the many ingredients in which you could roll a goat cheese log. Sweet, savory, herby, crunchy, chocolatey!
So, once awake, I took a large log of goats’ cheese, split it in half, and came up with two topping mixes to roll it in. The results were sooooo good!!
The best part is that it only took about five minutes. Perfect for quick, fuss-free party prep!
The Lavender Herb goats’ cheese is rolled in lavender, fresh basil, lemon zest, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
And secondly, the Chocolate Crunch is a simple mix of salted almonds, chia seeds and mini chocolate chips (with a few cinnamon chips too!)
Start like this:
Place your topping mix in a shallow bowl and roll. You might need to use your fingers to sprinkle more topping on to the cheese and press it in. Cover all around!
Serve these with the Whole Foods Everything flatbreads – they are the best! Or otherwise, spread the goat cheese on apple slices or cucumber rounds.
And for the Chocolate Crunch:
With this one it took slightly longer to get the toppings to stick, but keep at it!

I wish I liked goat cheese, because other people get so much pleasure out of eating it! I bet I could make this with cream cheese, though. (And at least I like onions!) 😉

I would never imagine lavender in another combination than with soap. Hahaha. Combination with honey sounds even more fancy. I will give it a try. Definitely!

These both look great!

I got them from Great Harvest, so they’re probably hard to find, but you could use any kind of chips – chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter!
