Beautycounter has two different eye creams to help brighten and hydrate – here’s my honest Beautycounter eye cream review.
Do you really need an eye cream?
You don’t need anything, but if you’re into taking good care of your skin to support it in aging gracefully, an eye cream could be a small but mighty addition to your skincare routine.
Some people may argue that eye creams are just more-expensive moisturizers in smaller packages; but in actuality, eye creams are formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eye.
Eye creams typically contain more oil than regular facial lotion, and often have active ingredients aimed at the common complaints found like dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines around the eye area.
If you smile with your eyes (a good thing, in my opinion!), you’ll probably notice an increase of fine lines as you age.
The skin around the eyes is more fragile (it’s thinner) and therefore prone to show age and fatigue more easily. Fluid collects under the eyes that can cause puffiness and dark circles. While eye creams are not a miracle for any of these, they are designed to hydrate and brighten the eye area… because everyone wants to look awake and bright-eyed!
Beautycounter offers two safer eye cream options. I’m sharing my honest opinion of both and which one I use daily.

How To Use Eye Creams
Lightly pat around eye area using your ring finger until fully absorbed. Use twice daily, morning and night. It’s recommended to apply eye cream after serums and before moisturizers or face oils.
My Review Of The Beautycounter Eye Creams
My experience with eye creams is that you definitely aren’t going to see results within a day. It’s more of a long-term support that maintains the health eye of the area so that the skin doesn’t get worse.
When I notice the biggest difference in an eye cream is when I stop using it. Leave it home for a week when I travel or run out before a restock and I’m doing a double take in the mirror – “I’m looking tired today.” And then I remember that I’ve been without eye cream for multiple days.
I have tried them both and the Countertime Ultra Renewal gets my vote. I love its gel-like formula and the glass bottle makes it feel more luxurious than the Countermatch. It also lasts FOREVER because you only need to dab on the tiniest drop – the gel spreads so easily. Give it a go if you’re looking for a new one.
