Sledding was fun!!
We bundled up the Bears and took them for a ride in the driveway
Actually, Matt and I went for a long walk in the snow after lunch.
But first, we worked on home improvements.
Gold –> Silver
Used to be hideous gold!
–>
We are Matt the plumber is currently working on these:
–>
And I cleaned the guest bath CRACK TO CREVACE!!! It was disgusting and I’m embarrassed to say how dirty the baseboards, ceiling and cracks were. But it’s sparkling now!
We were still in our PJs when we got hungry for lunch!!!
I heated up the last of that bean + cauliflower bland soup and added:
- Leftover kale
- Juice pulp (~1/3 a cup)
- Hot sauce
- Pumpkin seed dressing
- Pumpkin seeds
It was pretty good and tasted like the sum of its parts!
Side dishes:
Half an orange, half a carrot with TJ’s PB (the best combo!) and half a bag of Popchips that the company sent me for Xmas! Matt and I split them all. These were the salt + pepper Popchips and they had the slightest hint of citrus (from citric acid) and were really good!!
After lunch we went on our icy walk. The roads are BAD!! A sheet of ice. Luckily there isn’t ice on the trees so I hope there’s no risk of a power outage. We cancelled our restaurant week reservations ( 🙁 ) and are getting cozy with some rice + beans + greens and possibly a bottle of wine tonight! So glad we’re getting some quality time together. And the Bears too!

Looks like the bears had a great time in the snow! (And I suppose you two did, also 🙂 )
The brushed silver hardware looks great — I’ve always loved that look. Very 2010. Enjoy your cozy meal and wine!

ooh! Love what you’re doing with the bathroom! 😀 Its amazing how little details can really transform a room – it looks so elegant!
Being iced-in is definitely a bummer. nonetheless, enjoy and relax tonight! (You guys totally deserve it)
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
That’s too bad about canceling reservations but it sounds like you have a nice, cozy night ahead. I know you must be sooo happy to spend time together!!!!
Sounds like a fun day! You’re never too old to play in the snow!

So much pretty snow! Hope you have a fun night together at home. I love cuddling inside with the hubs when it’s too cold to go out.

Awh it’s good to see the positive side of nasty weather – spending time with your loved ones! Haha how corny does that sounds :s
I love the side dishes with your lunch (I’ll jsut skip the cauliflower part….ewww!), looks well tasty 🙂
Have a good evening!
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
I love the silver! That is how our house was done when we bought it so I’m sure people will love it!
RED says
Such nice little home improvements! Love the brushed silver! I’ve always liked it better then the gold, it just looks so cheap to me!
Lisa M says
Love seeing the house transformation you are going through pre-move!!
I’m in the process of my own transformation (just a room for twins arriving in June!) and am having a hard time with a couple of areas…
School Work – You just recently went through your RD material and kept very little for your exam, correct? Have you long since parted with college (undergrad material)? I’m having a hard time letting go, especially text books.
Library/Books – I have a whole bookcase that needs boxing up. Should I edit first? Books are so hard to let go of!
Kath says
I have parted with my coursework (most of it) because I figured that I wouldn’t use it for the exam since we are taking a review course.
Books: will you EVER read them again!? If no, give them to friends!
Karla says
Those are great improvements! It’s amazing what changing a fixture will do!
Sarah says
Sounds like a super productive morning – I so need to get some around the house projects finished. Yum – popchips, especially the BBQ flavor.
Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat) says
Looks like the bears had fun! 😉
Today is such a great soup day. I’m going to heat up some leftovers in a bit and let them warm me up from the inside.
christie @ honoring health says
Love the silver hardware!
Enjoy the rest of your snow day!

The Silver looks great! Sounds like you are having a nice day Snow Day!!
Jenn @ Livewellfit says
Sledding is the best snow activity in the world!!! Brings out the kid in us. 🙂
Hannah says
I think snow like this is definitely a good opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, rather than get hassled about going out! I’ve never had carrots with nut butters, but really nut butters make everything taste better, so I’ll have to give this a go!
Jamie says
hahaha, the bears are hilarious! and i love how you always make the most creative meals out of leftovers and your pictures look fantastic! and I’ve never tried popchips, i think i’m scared that if I try them I’ll be addicted!
Allie (Live Laugh Eat) says
I went sledding today!!!! I wish I had me some bears for company 🙂 Roomie does not equal a bear!
Dontcha hate spiffing up a house for the next owner to enjoy and not yourself? Happens every time though.
Ana says
Oh, how funny the bears!
Really like your changes, your new silver looks awesome! I love the faucet, so pretty!
I am Cary (close to Raleigh) in NC too and we got about that same amount of snow, lots of fun outside, but sooo cold!

Mmmmm…I love that flavor of pop chips!!!
Those home improvements are impressive! We still have a LONGGGG list of little things like that we’d like to do to our house. We probably won’t do them until we’re trying to sell our house 🙂

Ha, my bears want to play in the snow, too! Except SF doesn’t get snow in the winter. Just rain. And my bear does not like rain.
Sounds like a productive but fun day with Matt!

Like the bathroom upgrades. Too bad you won’t get to enjoy them much longer.
Kathleen says
Love the bears sledding pics! Good luck with the house renovations! The silver looks great and makes such a difference over the gold!

I love the new fixtures! At your next place you’ll have to upgrade before you move out!
Katharine says
Amazing how much the silver makes a difference! Good choice. 🙂
Kelly says
How cute are those bears? I bet they burned a lot of calories on their sledding adventure. Gotta remember that the next time I’m in an exercise rut-it’s easier when it’s fun! Your post was a great reminder to get moving even when it’s so cold and snowy out. Although I have to admit it is really enjoyable to sit by the cozy fire! Maybe I’ll use that as a reward for AFTER the exercise. 🙂
