Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Slept well!!! On my back just like Kristien suggested for my stress-filled shoulders/neck.
Of course we celebrated the weekend with a full-out oatmeal buffet!
Take your pick!
Whipped banana oatmeal for 4, made with coconut milk, water, banana, chia seeds, vanilla, salt and raisins.
My happy guest
And her toppings!! She loved all the nut butters I had her taste-test 🙂 But the Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter won!
My love:
Topped with Carrot Raisin Walnut muffin teacake (from Great Harvest) plus a drizzle of coconut butter and a blog of CVSB.
It was INCREDIBLE!!
Bora Bora coffee mug sportin’ 2 cups: hot Spring Blend and iced mint Caftea. x2 coffee = me shaking in my boots!
After an hour of chatting on our patio, Kristien whipped out his natural supplements. I’m very curious!!
He treated me to a B-vitamin splash: Max Stress B. It smelled like a vitamin pill but didn’t have much taste.
We’ll see if I feel more energized!
Going on a RUN!!!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
Haha, I love the oatmeal buffet!! I would LOVE to have you make my oatmeal…you’re quite legendary! Enjoy the run 🙂
mary ann says

Kath says
It’s homemade nut butter from Sarah in Cville!!
Shannon says
Funny…I thought the same thing. I am so glad to know it is not REALLY Grey Poupon!
lk - healthy delicious says
hahahaha that had e a little worried too
Josie- skinny ways says
I was just about to ask the same thing! mustard would have been too far out there for me : P
Evan Thomas says
HAHA. I thought the same thing
jessica says
It’s the same color as Grey Poupon in the pic! too funny
Sarah R says
oh my goodness! I was thinking the same thing!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
Yum… oatmeal buffet!! So very cool! Caitlin is one lucky lady!
Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday says
In Caitlin’s hands that looks like the world’s tiniest bowl of oatmeal.
Kath says
It’s the angle!
Ameena says
I have never heard of an oatmeal buffet before but what a fabulous idea for overnight guests!
Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter sounds pretty fantastic to me too!
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
I love the oatmeal buffet, what’s in the grey puopon bottle, I’m guessing not mustard. Have a good run.
Tracy says
Dijon mustard on oats!?! Please explain!
Kath says
NOT MUSTARD!! Homemade nut butter!!
Little Bookworm says
Love the oatmeal/porridge buffet! 🙂
Kimberley says
Hi Kath- I saw these bowls and thought of you since you love bowls so much. Thought they would be a pretty summer addition! http://www.vivaterra.com/pls/enetrixp/!stmenu_template.main?complex_id_in=482007.1062176.907954.4181715.page
Kath says
Cute!!
A Teenage Gourmet (Sami) says
Hahaha, I totally thought you were testing our observation with the mustard. I linked to your Open Sky store in my recent reviews, Kath. I’m really enjoying all of the products that I’ve bought!
Kath says
Yay!!
Sarah says
Is it wrong that I really wanted someone to try the Grey Poupon in their oats?
Ellie says
I love the bowl you ate from! We have that bowl in our apartment and I just think it’s simple and yet beautiful
Morgan @ Life After Bagels says
hmmm sleeping on your back for stressed shoulders . .. interesting I should try that. I’m also very tight there. Glad his tip worked for you!
Wei-Wei says
Oatmeal buffet! AWESOMENESS. It’s so cool when realworld/blogworld collide. I think I said that on Caitlin’s blog, but I’ll say it again! You’re the queen of oatmeal. :D:D
Have fun on your run! 🙂 (That rhymes! :D)

Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
Goodness…I’m causing panic due to my “creative” use of a mustard jar….homemade nut butter…it’s delicious…and does NOT taste like mustard. 🙂
Julie @savvyeats says
Hey, it is creative + ‘green’! 🙂
Paige (Running Around Normal) says
Haha I was wondering about the dijon as well! Good to know it’s acutally nut butter 😉
Have a great run!
Marissa says
Yeah, good for you for getting a good sleep! Whenever my back injury is playing up badly, I can only ever fall asleep on my back, too… with my right leg bent up so the sole of my foot rests on my left knee. I don’t know why, but that just eases my SI joint for some reason…?
Melissa Cari @ Miles for Markets says
Haha I’m happy I looked through these comments. The mustard bottle totally threw me off!
If I ever visit your area, I think your kitchen would be a tourist attraction for me just so I could have some of your whipped banana oats! I make them for myself all the time and they’re delicious, but homemade by you would be like going to the original Starbucks in Seattle! Caitlin is a very lucky girl!
Amber K says
An oatmeal buffet sounds so awesome! Have a great run.
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
I saw dijon mustard as part of the selection..I’ve never heard of that before! Maybe in savory oats but not in sweet ones lol. Unless it’s homemade nut butter, THEN it’d make more sense! hahaha Have a good run!
Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches says
Lol. I got scared about the mustard as well. Glad to hear that it’s not something you normally put in your oats. I could see it going well with savory oats actually, but not in the AM. 🙂 You have quite an impressive selection of nut butters. Epic, I daresay. If only all those speciality nut butters weren’t so expensive!
Ashley@thehungryscholar says
Glad you got some sleep 🙂
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
Supplements are great to help balance you out. I love all the fun pics of you and Caitlin together.
Heather says
have fun! it’s so weird to see her at your house!
Stacy (StacyGrowsHealthy) says
Looks like a tasty breakfast. Good to know the grey poupon is nut butter, it didn’t sound like a good oatmeal topping.
Erin says
So many delicious toppings! How do you even choose? 😀
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
I was wondering about the Grey Poupon too, until I read your above response- although it might be interesting in savory oats! So jealous of your nut butter stash, but it reminded me to pick up some of the flax PB at TJ’s today!! Hope you had a great run!
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Hahahah I like that you store nutbutters in mustard jars. I have a ton of old jars and I do the same thing!
Kellie says
Your bowls are fantastic. It makes me want to go get some new colorful ones for spring. Pretty dishes really do make food taste better
Marina says
amazing toppings, i’m sure the breakfast was great too.
I think I’m constantly lacking b complex vitamins…need to up those a bit!
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
Ah! I would love to have so many choices of nut butters. Looks like so much fun. Have a great run 🙂
Camille says
Can’t wait to see how the supplement worked 🙂
Kristin (Salty Tooth) says
I was a little worried about the Grey Poupon, glad to hear it’s actually homemade nut butter!
Diana @ frontyardfoodie says
Oatmeal bar! Awesome idea. I love that you bloggies are chilling together. It’s awesome to read your posts and different takes on things.
Foodie (Fab and Delicious Food) says
Oatmeal buffet! How fun! Such a cute idea!
Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] says
What the heck is the mustard doing on the oatmeal buffet? Haha.
Mary says
Hi Kath!
I’ve emailed you before. I’m a regular reader of your blog.
I have a tiny blog and would love to get more readers. I would NEVER think to ask you for a shout-out, because I think that’s rude. But I know you gave the opportunity last year for bloggers to do guest posts, and so I was wondering if you were going to do that again this year? I love your blog!
Kath says
I’m not sure! I don’t have any major vacations planed and it was a lot of work to prepare. I might though! I’ll let you know on the blog.
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
i have such a weird thing about supplements – sometimes i fully believe in them (i take green pills every single time i can’t get something green at a meal) and sometimes i think they are just placebos. curious to see how you’ll feel!
Veggielady4life says
How does sleeping on your back help stress?
Mama Pea says
I thought I’d be so cute and clever and comment on the Grey Poupon. Too little, too late. Story of my life.
Happy weekend!
ari says
LOL same.
Lana says
Just wondering – have you tried taking magnesium for sleeping? I’ve heard it is supposed to relax the muscles. Just be careful because it can cause diahrrea if you take too much, but it is supposed to help. And chamomile tea. 😀
Amy @ Amy Starts To Run says
Hah, I guess everyone was wondering about the dijon mustard/oatmeal combo. Homemade nut butter sounds amazing.
Maya says
Is that mustard I see among the nut butters?
Hannah says
Oh my god, your nut butter collection! Stupid Australia and its stupid lack of anything beyond plain peanut butter and very rarely a plain almond butter. Could I buy your house WITH its food stock?
BroccoliHut says
Ah man! When can I come to your house for breakfast?
Jenn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
You are the best breakfast hostess!! 🙂
