My alarm did not go off this morning! Or rather, a user malfunction occurred
Good thing I didn’t have anywhere to be, but it meant my run was delayed by an hour – hence the late post!I ran my usual 4 mile loop, a little slower and clunkier than usual, but that’s all cool.
Since thinking about french toast last night, I had it on the brain my whole run!! I dipped a slice of High Five in a whisked egg with a splash of milk and then plopped that on a hot skillet smothered in some coconut oil.
Toppings included a banana, browed on the other side of the pan, plus raspberries, coconut, chia seeds, butterscotch chips (nothing healthy about them other than their delicious taste) and vanilla almond butter by Naturally Nutty.
Coconut pouching tea on the side – this is coming OpenSky and one of the few non-black teas that I have really loved! It’s got flavor without body, which is unusual.
I have two articles to write today and a handful of follow-ups to handle. Plus errands to run. Busy busy beer bee!

My french toast, no matter how good, will always pale in comparison until I have GH bread to make it on!!
I’m trying to be a good saver lately, but that OpenSky deal tempts me EVERY day. I just adore those mugs. Perfect size, perfect shape (I’m oddly particular when it comes to mugs, haha)
Lindsay @ bikingbeforebed says
Wow, I was thinking about French Toast my whole run this morning too! I broke out my bread machine for the first time in awhile last night and made a banana wheat bread. I can’t wait to try it in French toast with a browned banana. That is such a great idea!

Your lucky that you can still get up and get your run in! If I slept late – I”d be whizzing just to get to work and start running errands, etc. Everything gets pushed back 🙁
I used to hate french toast growing up – my dad made it for us and I wasn’t really a fan of the egg taste (not sure why – Iove eggs). But I compromised and still ate them – but only if they were drowned in maple syrup 🙂
Nikki says
Holy yum! Not only does your breakfast look completely scrumptious, but it’s ridiculously aesthetically pleasing as well! Perfect start to the day!
