Yay for sunshine!!
Yesterday was just rotten bananas.
For breakfast today I carried down a near-rotten banana plus a packet of Barney Butter I brought from home. Smothered onto a bagel!
Plus a pile of that delicious fruit!
And I added a glass of milk for a splash more protein. Good thing there’s always coffee everywhere so you can always find milk on a continental breakfast.
We have half day of sessions to attend and then we’re hoping today to get out for some beach combing!

I just got back from a run and it’s a little nicer here today than yesterday and hopefully will clear up…I hate it when we get rain in San Diego and I know I have friends here from out of town…I want you to experience only sunshine and rainbows 🙂
Gillian says
Since my lovely friend just shipped me some Justin’s maple almond butter I may be re-creating a version of this breakfast! Envying your gorgeous weather over there all the way from East Coast Canada 🙂
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
Man, I’m drooling. Why does fresh fruit always end up looking so much better on the road than at home…at least for me? 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Looks delicious! I haven’t tried Justin’s nut butters yet (I don’t even know if we can get them here in Canada – I don’t think so) but I’m excited for the day I do! Have a great day of sessions Kath, and happy beach combing!
Kim @ Spoonful of Sass says
Fruit always tastes so much better when someone else cuts it for you!
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
And there’s just something about the way that they slice fruit like that (thin and uniform) – that also makes it taste better!

Having a few supplemental food items can really help spice up a hotel continental breakfast — peanut butter is one of my staples, too!
Looks like some of the pregnancy nausea may have passed just in time for you to enjoy this trip. Have fun in the sun 🙂

A verrrry special package arrived on my doorstep yesterday and it completely made my week (year??)! Love that it came in the Great Harvest box – I could DEFINITELY smell the bakery when I opened it…haha 🙂

HIGHLY recommend checking out Miguel’s while you’re there for their white cheese sauce. It’s so amazing people buy it in bulk! It’s within walking distance of the Hotel del. http://www.brigantine.com/miguels_cocina/location-coronado.html Also, if you want some romance, head back to the Silver Strand to the Loews hotel…they have a gondola ride there 🙂 http://www.gondolacompany.com/ Couldn’t help myself, since your mom-in-law might not know about those 🙂
Rachel says
I had much better luck beachcombing at Ocean Beach further up the coast than I did at Coronado Beach when were there 2 years ago around this time of year.
Snack Girl says
I used to hate over ripe bananas – and then I started freezing them and making a “soft ice cream”.
I wrote about it on Monday if anybody is interested: http://www.snack-girl.com/snack/zero-points-plus-dessert/

FYI, my doctor and midwife told me that you can have 2-3 cups of coffee per day once the 2nd trimester starts. Was soooo happy when I hit 13 weeks!!

Stacy @ Say It With Sprinkles says
Barney + banana is a great way to start the day!
Jenna says
I love that you drink cow’s milk, raisin bagels and gluten ( I eat bagels with milk ALL the time – great snacks too). I find amongst bloggers it is a rare thing. I love these items 🙂 Your breakfasts are always good options to add into my rotation.
I am in a lunch rut though and seriously need to change this!
Laura @ She Eats Well says
Gotta love the to-go packs of nut butter. I stash them everywhere…ha! Your fruit is making me crave Spring & Summer fruit.
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love fresh fruit–looks tasty!
TeenyLittleSuperChef says
You definitely put those who say they can’t eat healthy when on away from home, to shame. There’s no reason you can’t still eat a balance diet even when your choices are more limited. Got a banana? Check! Got a bagel? Check! Got some peanut butter? Heck yes! And there ya go. Awesome breakfast and very little preparation. Way to be, Kath, way to be!
Jasper Naomi @ crunchylittlebites says
the great thing about trying to balance meals when others might, at first glance, think it impossible – is that you have to use some imagination! 😀 and a little bacon never hurt anyone 😀
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
Fun Fun! That fruit looks awesome! Makes me wish it were summer.
Shana says
I’m glad the sun came out for you today, though it is still COLD! Are you doing any meetups while you are here?

I’m not this time, unfortunately.

Kati Mora, MS, RD, Kellogg's FiberPlus(R) Wellness Advocate says
I love having fruit for breakfast – even near rotten bananas. 😉 My bowl of Kellogg’s FiberPlus Cinnamon Oat Crunch just wouldn’t be the same without a few slices added on top.
Lexi @ Cura Personalis Foodie says
carbs + sunflower butter + banana is my total go-to breakfast as well 🙂
