…cause I left it in San Francisco last year!
Every. Single. Time I fly across the country I am amazed at how fast something in your imagination becomes a reality. San Francisco is real again! I believe this is my 6th visit – a graduation wine country trip, a honeymoon, 3 Foodbuzz Festivals, 1 BlogHer. Think that’s it? LOVE it here!
Before we get to the food mecca of the country, Larbs and I dined on lovely airport meals
I picked up this salad in Raleigh when I saw a “choose your own” salad option. I liked that I could tell it had not been packaged a week ago and got to choose my toppings.
Beans, egg, tomatoes, cuc, walnuts, orange, lettuce. Could have been better, but could have been a lot worse!
Larbs waited till we got to Vegas and got a burrito bowl. Rather measly for a grand total of…$10.26!
We’ve also been munching on our Wheat Thins and Plane Cookies, which were animal crackers shaped like planes. Fun crunch!
So happy to be here! I wasn’t planning on coming to Foodbuzz this year for financial reasons, but I was offered a spot to speak on a panel tomorrow morning on the topic of “Taking Your Blog To The Next Level” and was offered a small stipend that just covered my airfare. It helped, a lot, and I’m appreciative to be able to come a third time! It’s one of the best foodie experiences ever.
See Foodbuzz 2009, when winning Best Food Blogger took me by a huge surprise!, and Foodbuzz 2010 which ended with a belated anniversary trip up to Sonoma with my love to re-live our honeymoon, on this page of blog events!!

“Taking Your Blog to the Next Level”–well, they definitely picked the right person with you! San Fran is possibly my favorite city in the country. I have relatives who live just an hour north near wine country–so much great stuff near each other! Northern California is a dream <3

It’s awesome you and your sis get to take a trip together!
Savannah @ Sweet and Savvy says

kathleen @ the daily crumb says
so happy you were able to make it back! i went to college right outside of san francisco and, while chicago is always #1 in my heart, san fran is a close, close second. i just love the feeling of northern california.
there is a “make your own salad” option at o’hare that i always try to take advantage of… like you said, nice to know your veggies haven’t been prepackaged for days.
lynn @ the actor's diet says

I am looking forward to your blogs on Foodbuzz as I am very new to blogging. I am certainly learning a great deal from your fantastic blog…good luck!
San Francisco is one of those cities you here so much about…always great…I should put it on my list of places to visit…especially as it is so close to wine-country.
Here in Ontario, we have our own wine-country, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Right next to Niagara Falls. My husband and I visit every year cycling to the wineries, eating local cheese and staying at a Bed and Breakfast…heaven!
Hillary says
San Fran is on the top of my list of places to visit. Super jealous of your trip!

I LOVE San Fran., too!!! There is something about California that brings a smile to my face–possibly the endorphins from the sun 🙂 Catch some rays, and share them through our computer screens for us (LOL) Also, have fun while you are at it, too!

Sonia (the Mexigarian) says
SF is such a beautiful city. There’s a little gem around every corner and personality to each building, and the views of the bay, wow. I don’t make it up there as often as I would like (some really good galleries are there where I could show my work). The one thing that keeps me back is the traffic up the peninsula to the city. Living in the south bay sucks sometimes.
Hope you have a great time at Food Buzz!
Katy says
I like SF a lot, but I’m always happy to come home (South Bay), where houses don’t touch, they aren’t painted pink, and the streets are lined with big trees.
Sonia the Mexigarian says
Oh I completely agree with you on that. SF is waaaaay too crowded for my liking (I need space!) but it is an adventure every time I go and that’s what I love about the city. But it truly doesn’t beat living in the South Bay. It has it’s special gems as well, more spread out though, but it’s fun finding them. 🙂
Elaine says
Watch out for trans fats in Nabisco products – those plane crackers may be cute, but they are made with partially hydrogenated oil. Load up on airline peanuts instead!
Emily says
SO cool that your sister is able to join you! Have fun, enjoy San Fran!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I really wanted to go to Foodbuzz this year, but I didn’t want to buy a ticket in case it interfered with my midterm schedule. I guess I’ll be living vicariously through you and everyone else who’s there! 😉
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Have fun in San Fran and at the event! I will be living vicariously through everyone’s posts and pics. I know you’re going to do wonderfully at your speaking event, too…have fun. Can’t wait for the cliff’s notes/recap version (if there will be one) 🙂
Marie@feedingfive says
I am guessing you will be a fabulous speaker. I was going over your posts and your sister’s loft is unbelievable. I love my home, but it is so cool to see houses like yours and your sis’. Also those cupcakes looked out of this world.

Have a great time in San Fran! How fun for both you and your sister. I wish I could attend and listen to your talk tomorrow. I too would like to “Take my blog to the Next Level.” Can’t wait to see all your pics and recaps of all the fun you’re having out there. I hope you get better food than the stuff you’ve been eating up until now. I’m guessing you’re not flying Delta or else I’m sure there would have been some Biscoff cookies consumed somewhere in there 🙂
Lindsay @ biking before bed says
My boyfriend is currently on a California road trip without me:( Hopefully I can go once I get some more vacation from work! That is one of the best looking airport salads I have ever seen!

I love your blog, but have never commented before. LOVE that you’re in SF. I live here, and it is absolutely the most delicious city 😛 You should definitely try and head to the Mission for tons of amazing brunch options one day (or any meal… or places for drinks…), and Philz for the most amazing/fun coffee!
