As I’ve written about before, I don’t really set serious New Year’s Resolutions. I prefer intentions and making little changes that add up. I also love setting the tone of the year with a Word Of The Year. I’m working on that post today! So, while I don’t set major goals and then feel down if I don’t stick to them, I do love the camaraderie of everyone else getting pumped for change. It’s just easier to be healthy when everyone else is talking about it too. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals is easier this month than in the previous three! Join me in the motivation – ask me how I’m doing and I’ll share the same. All of us should have the goal to FEEL our best, no matter what path we take to get there.
I always feel good after having a smoothie for breakfast. This smoothie bowl was made with tropical fruit, Vega Chai, frozen bananas, and milk. On top I sprinkled granola and a peanut butter drizzle.
You know what else makes me feel great? Grapefruit! (Or really any citrus this time of year.) I think the trick is the combo of vitamin C and hydration! I eat my grapefruits just like my oranges – either sliced or peeled in segments. Little tart never hurt nobody!
Mazey and I say hi from the gym! We’ve both had to do indoor workouts for the past few weeks. It’s just too cold for bike riding or outdoor running. At least all of our friends are there.

I am loving citrus for everything too – I can’t tell you how many oranges I’ve eaten this week lol

oooh that smoothie bowl looks great!
Know what two foods instantly energize me the same as a cup of coffee? baby carrots and oranges. They shall never replace coffee for me, but I need to google why I get an instant boost when I eat them. LOL

That smoothie bowl looks great! What is peanut butter drizzle? Just peanut butter or something added? Always looking for new ideas to perk up breakfast!
KathEats says
It’s a really drippy peanut butter!

Does Mazen workout alongside you at the gym? Or does he go to the daycare section?
KathEats says
Haha no he plays in the playstructure and with other kids. I just call it his “workout” because he gets his energy out!

Happy New Year to you too! That drippy peanut butter looks SO good! What’s your favorite brand?
KathEats says
Oh gosh – them all!! We usually have WF bras in the fridge. I recently had PB and Co and Teddie while traveling and they were awesome. TJs brand and sometimes I buy the natural versions of the classic beads (like Jiff). This drippy one was by Good Life.

I agree on goals for the new year, I focus on setting an intention instead and set monthly goals. I DO love that everyone is in a healthy mindset!

Love the idea of a “word” for the year. That seems like a good way to keep your intentions in mind without having to remember everything you said you were going to start doing jan 1!
