My group of gym friends had an American Pie theme night. Here’s the recap!
Happy Memorial Day!
Today we honor those who have served our Armed Forces. Friends and family are gathering in a day of fellowship, which might involve some American apple pie! Many would say this weekend is the kickoff of summer – the best season!
It’s the season of outdoor dining…
Shoutout to the best summer beer: Three Notch’d’s Firefly Honeysuckle Beer!
Dresses and no winter coats…
And rooftop bars with a warm breeze!
The Quirk’s rooftop is especially nice!
American Pie Night
In honor of summertime beginning, this group of friends gathered for an American Pie themed night!
Our friend Julie hosted, and put out an incredible spread of snacks and pies!!
The Gals!
Bye Bye Miss American Pie
My theatrical song and dance buddy Sean and I choreographed a production to the song American Pie and performed it for the group. It had singing, dancing, tap dancing, props, and more!
American Pie Dance!
The Movie
We watched the movie (American Pie) later in the night. I hadn’t seen it in 20 years!! Hilarious. And such a fun time! (Yes that is a Christmas tree in Julie’s living room – haha!!)
Yoga in Staunton
Lest you think all we do is party into the night, here’s a daytime activity! We took a field trip to Staunton to take our friend Holly’s yoga class!
Holly is a newly minted yoga instructor, and she teaches at Phoenix Fitness and Yoga in Staunton. We caravanned over the mountain to take her class on a Sunday afternoon.
The class was great – a much needed stretch! If you live nearby, look for Holly!
Afterwards we walked through downtown Staunton to Byers Street Bistro where we had a lovely patio dinner.
I had the Bistro Salad with salmon on top. Highly recommend due to the homemade salad dressings! (Also recommend the pimento cheese hushpuppies and candied pecan Brussels sprouts!)
Staunton, we’ll be back!

It would have been a lot more!
