Good morning!! Sunday marks the end of our holiday festivities. Over the course of this week I’ve added 2 hours to my body clock’s wake-up time, 5 new recipes to my recipage and probably about 3 pounds to my body. The King Of Beer proclaimed last night that he’s taking a week off of alcohol – if that gives you an indication of what a vacation this has been!
We all feasted on superfoods this morning – pumpkin smoothies and peppermint tea (coffee for some!)

i can’t believe it’s sunday already – i loved this mellow thanksgiving!
Hillary says
I have to say I feel the same way right now: very content, very indulged, and just a little bit ready to get back to my normal routine. But just a little ; )
lynda @ healthy hoboken girl says
Thanks for all those recipes, Kath!! I think we all gained a few pounds this holiday. I’m so ready for a power-walk myself!
Tami says
thank you for the pizza dough recipe, i have always wanted to ask for it but i figured it might be a top secret recipe. my husband makes the best pizza and we just got a new grill and it has a drop in pizza stone!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Oooh those recipes sound great! I’m in the process of sticking all mine into Recipage and it is a huuuuge undertaking but I’m pleased that I’m almost finished! It will be so worth it in the end. Your brekkie looks awesome – I’m in love with Flying Squirrel now too!
Laura @ She Eats Well says
I am with you on the Holiday weekend coming to an end. I am craving lots of green things in my near future :).

I absolutely cannot wait to make Karen’s chili and Matt’s pizza dough!
Simply Life says
oh those smoothies look incredible!
Chris G says
Hey Kath! Your pizza always looks fantastic! Is there anyway you could convert the whole wheat pizza dough recipe into cups/teaspoons for those who don’t have a scale? Thanks!
Jill says
I would like to tried the pizza dough. But I also don’t have a kitchen scale. I would appreciate it if you could give cups and teaspoons measurement.
Jen says
You could probably just google it too and it should come up no problem.
KathEats says
I sent this to Matt to address!
Matt says
Sorry y’all, I just don’t have time to rewrite the entire recipe. It’s really easy to find out the density conversions for these ingredients on the internet.
anon says
Just be careful, I’ve done density conversions on recipes and they never come out the same (at least for me). A kitchen scale has changed my life b/c it opens many doors to other recipes.
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
Thank you for putting the recipes up. I was really intrigued by your Mum’s corn pudding and it looks really easy too 🙂
Mom says
It’s REALLY easy!
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
I am going to try it very soon. Thank you for sharing.
Mom says
Let me know how it turns out!
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
it has taken a little while but I made the corn pudding tonight and it went beautifully with a pan blackened steak. We are thinking of finishing it tomorrow for breakfast with bacon and a little maple syrup! Thank you for the recipe. I have never had anything like it but will make it again.
Mom says
So glad it turned out!! I like it because it’s good in so many seasons, too.

i kind of love the health-food-detox that comes after a holiday. i love feasting and spending amazing time with family and friends. but i also love how it feels when i’m eating better and getting my body to forgive me. i was eating poorly for a while before thanksgiving (thanksgiving actually wasn’t bad at all), so yesterday and today, it feels amazing to be back to good foods!
KathEats says
I agree – it makes you appreciate really healthy food so much more
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Ever since seeing that oyster pie, I’ve been trying to convince my mom we need it on Christmas. Now I can send her the recipe 🙂
Stacy @ Say It With Sprinkles says
I tried to tell myself the overindulging would end on the Friday after Thanksgiving and that one day wouldn’t be a problem…but I think it’s turned into several more than that, haha! Planning to put in a little more gym time this coming week and lighten up the eats!
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
Thanks for adding all the new recipes, especially the pizza dough recipe.
I am on total T-day detox, too. Whipping up a blueberry-spinach protein shake right now. Keeping it on the light side. 😉
Have a great day!
Sana says
No alcohol for a WEEK???? I will believe it when I see it! 😉
KathEats says
Me too 😉

I wish I could go without sweetener in my smoothies like you do! I cheat and add some Splenda, which I think is the probably my most un-healthy habit I now have (I don’t drink!) Even when I add banana, I want to bump up the sweetness just a tad! Do you really not sweeten your smoothies?
KathEats says
Usually the bananas I add are enough to sweeten everything at breakfast – but I do use pretty ripe ones! I really don’t like things super sweet anymore – for my main meals at least. I think part of it is just using high quality ingredients (coffee, yogurt mix-ins, smoothie base) that taste good to begin with
Kathy says
Thank you for the recipes! Hope you have a great Sunday!
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says

It’s all about Karen!! Great recipes 🙂 Glad all had a happy week long holiday.
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
Do you think the smoothie recipe would work just as well in a regular blender? I’d love to try it but am minus the vitamix!
KathEats says
Yup!
Allison says
I need to start using our blender and whip up some smoothies! But with the cooler weather I’be begun to crave oats 🙂
Andrea @FrSeed2Stomach says
I made an oatmeal aka doughboy smoothie for the first time this morning and it tasted like dessert! So yummy. I think I put way too much dried fruit! I’ll have to follow one of your recipes better next time. In any case, it was a nice change of pace from a bowl of hot oatmeal or a green smoothie (my standard breakfast go-tos) BTW – that vita-mix link isn’t working. Just FYI. 🙂

your corn pudding is in the oven….:)
