Today was so amazing in every definition of the word FULL.
We had lunch at Eppie’s.
We ate gooey brownie at Arch’s.
We tasted wines at Blenheim and Kluge.
We partied hard at the KERF house, complete with a fabulous array of potluck dishes and a pumpkin beer tasting.
I’ve been full since noon!
Tomato Bisque and a Santa Monica Salad with chicken, dates, goat cheese, corn and pumpkin bread!
Matt’s veggie plate was the bomb too
Allie brought me Quaker Oatmeal Squares!!!! A DOUBLE BOX!
Peppermint Patty
+ Brownie Batter.
Heaven.
Germs risked, we shared the standard and extracurricular tasting SEVEN ways. Worked out perfectly!!!
Back at our house, there were so many awesome foods brought!! Goat cheese, lamb salami, PUMPKIN GOAT CHEESE (!!), bacon-wrapped dates, empanadas, kale salad, pita chips, hummus and another batch of the same easy crockpot soup we made at our last party.
I ate lots of delicious things!! Too many
And two small pumpkin beers, which are now gone!
Coooookies. Heather’s Choco Pecan Caramels were great!
I broke out the gingerbreads from the freezer!
The highlight of the night was an impromtu beer tasting led by Matt!
The beers featured included:
- “America’s Original” Pumpkin Ale – Buffalo Bills (yuck!)
- My former favorite pumpkin ale – Cottonwood’s Pumpkin
- My new favorite – Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale
I think we split these each 10 ways! Such a fun way to compare.

Wow that oatmeal bar is ridic! (in a good way) I read the about Kath section and I have to say what you’ve accomplished (in less than a year too) is nothing short of amazing. I’ve also recently been taking a good look at my health (I turn 30 in a few weeks) and definitely am taking the steps for a healthier more active lifestyle. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on how to eat healthy, but don’t feel like I really know how to cook healthy (if that makes sense). That being said, do you have any recommendations on cookbooks/tools that might help me get a better idea of how to prepare better (and hopefully quick) meals for myself?
Kath says
Thanks Ruthie 🙂
I’d say keep reading blogs for great healthy living tips. And I’m hoping to put that in book form in the coming years 🙂
