Top of the morning to you all!! I’m having a great one so far. I lovely cool summer morning with hot oats, cool coffee and fresh flowers <3
I made a batch of Coach’s Oats complete with banana, cottage cheese, cinnamon and chia seeds. Today’s batch was even creamier and less “steel cutty” than last time! You could have fooled me that these were rolled oats! Maybe it was the super ripe whole banana?
I topped ‘em with some granola and peanut butter. I’m missing sunflower butter!
Served with Wednesday’s leftover coffee!
I’ve got some cold brewed coffee in the works for tomorrow! We’ll see how it goes : )
I’m doing some household things then headed to Body Pump, then showering and to the bakery, then out tonight for First Friday!! They’re even more fun in the summer when there’s live music AND the gallery crawl!!
Happy Long Holiday Fun Time Weekend!!
Sarah@The Flying ONION says

I had the exact same breakfast (except I had sunflower butter, wish I could send you some of mine, I’m a loving it!) and it was perfect. The weather is the exact same here – the perfect kind if you ask me.

I keep meaning to try The Pioneer Woman’s recipe for iced coffee. I just pour my coffee over ice and — voila! — but her method sounded much tastier and more authentic.

I thought I was such a dork for drinking out of mason jars until I started reading blogs and realized other people do it too! What is it about jars that makes beverages so much more appealing?!?!?
Julia says
I love your blog. I found you through Tina at Carrots N Cake. Question- do the Coach’s oats taste similar to the Trader Joe’s Multigrain Oatmeal?
KathEats says
Welcome! I’ve never had the TJ’s Multigrain so I wouldn’t know. The Coach’s are very similar to both rolled oats and steel cut blended together

I think I’m becoming a regular to your blog! The oats look delish this morning! I wanted to ask about your juice blog yesterday…for someone that want’s to start juicing for the fam, what brand of juicer do you recommend? I’m sure they aren’t all the same. BTW, I’m adding your blog’s link to mine:) Love it!
Steph says
Jeesh…you’d think I would know how to correctly type in my blog’s address.
KathEats says
I have a Breville and that’s the only one I have any experience with, so I really can’t answer fairly. But I like my Juice Fountain Plus very much!
Rachel says
You inspired me to branch out on my nut and seed butters. I bought my first jar of sunflower seed butter two days ago, and I swear the jar is almost empty! So delicious…
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
once you go cold brewed, you won’t go back. totally different. I’ve even tried the japanese method, and no comparison.
I don’t normally do this, but I linked to two great links for methods on my blog.

Your iced coffee in a jar looks great!
I always save my coffee (hot) when I am done with it. Just pour it into a glass jar, and put it in the fridge, and save it for the next day’s iced coffee! 🙂

I’m so excited it’s the holiday weekend! I hope you’ve got some fun plans and maybe some grilling/cookout action planned. The Friday events you go to sound like a lot of fun! Enjoy.

robin says
As a RD you must know how healthy oats are, I take it thats why you eat them often. I have never heard of adding cottage cheese into them. Are they a certain type of oat?
Angel7 says
I will have to try those oats sometime, since you say that they are so good.
