Morning!!
Other than a 4am phone call from the bakery inquiring about an oven control, we slept pretty well. Although sad news: this hotel is not generous with its internet. I have to march all the way to my room to publish a post today, and they blocked Netflix!! Meaning – we went to bed last night still wondering what happens in LOST. Bummerrrrrr!
Breakfast buffet was fun – oatmeal with trail mix
Lots O Fruit
Baked goods
I combined milk with oatmeal and trail mix and crumbled some brany muffin on top
And loved this fruit on the side!!
10% caf, 90% decaf!
We’re dining with GH Nashua, NH and GH Layton, UT!
Time to get motivated, inspired and act like a sponge…
Stephanie @ Legally Blinde says
Wow, that looks like an amazing breakfast spread! I wish I had all of those options every morning. Although the baked goods might be too tempting to have around on a daily basis 🙂
Lynn @ the actor's diet says
How crazy they banned Netflix? That happened to me in Vancouver; I was traumatized…
Sydney@ Nutrition with Sydney says
That fruit spread right there–the main reason I want to move to California!
(Well, and for the sunshine and beaches, too!)
🙂
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
blocking netflix?! nooooooooo!!!!!!
Anna @ On Anna's Plate says
I hate it when hotels are stingy with internet!! But at least their breakfast buffet looks very tasty 🙂 Hope y’all have a great morning!
Pat says
Wonder how many people then spend the $$ to watch a movie? Not many I’d bet. Sooo annoying.
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Why in the world would they block Netflix?! I’d complain!
At least their breakfast looks delicious. That watermelon is calling my name!
Katharina says
My first thought was that it used too much bandwidth but now that I see that comment above, maybe it is so more people will pay to order movies! I hope it’s not that second…that seems really cheap on the hotel’s part if it is.
Greta @ Staying Lost says
Beautiful breakfast spread! I wish I had one of those in my house this morning. 🙂
Sana says
It’s always shocking to me that you can’t get internet everywhere, I mean it’s 2012!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
I love breakfast buffets like that!! When we’re visiting my brother in Virginia we stay at Hampton Inns and they have the best ones!
Khushboo says
That bowl of oatmeal looks like a work of art- have a great day!
Kinley @ Better Off Barefoot says
I used to love continental breakfasts! The muffins were always my favorite! Looks like you are having an awesome time!!
Kelly @ Vegolosophy says
That looked like a great breakfast spread, yum!! Have a good day 🙂
Andrea @ The Skinny Chronicles says
Stupid hotels and their silly internet/price-gouging rules. Enjoy yours travels…and the fruit. Divine!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
That’s a really nice continental breakfast spread! I remember when we stayed there they had this HUGE buffet set up (I guess I just thought it was huge since I was so little?) and there were a million things to choose from! Haha one of the few things I remember about our trips to SD. That and the horrible sunburn I got on my back…
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
What a yummy spread! Stinks about the Netflix. Hopefully the suspense will be worth it! 🙂
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Enjoy acting like a sponge and soaking it all in today 🙂
The coffee…I need that right about now!
Roxanne says
Hotels are crazy, but they’re not “home”. Enjoy your day today, and look forward to your posts that is requiring some effort on your part… thanks for making the effort!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
love hotel breakfast spreads! and your morning combo looks delicious. sometimes that bit of caff is all you need 🙂 enjoy the day!
Miriam @ Bellaspire says
I love the endless possibilities for combinations at breakfast buffets! Has it been hard to cut back caffeine? Love your BERF blog :)!
Paige @ Healthy Hits the Spot says
This all looks great! Hey, you can think of walking back to your room as getting an exercise in (too, optimistic this morning?! My apologies…) Haha, hope you have a great day Kath!
KathEats says
That’s exactly what I said to Karen!
Caitlin says
I have been reading KERF forever, and when you guys opened the bakery, I was thinking “I wish there was a GH in NH”. Nashua is only 20 mins away…I had no idea there was a GH there! Can’t wait to check it out!!
Cait's Plate says
That oatmeal looks AMAZING. I’m so jealous of all the amazing food spreads!!
Jordan says
I always heard coffee was bad when you were pregnant. I always wondered how I was going to survive without coffee when the time came. Is that an old myth or a new study?
KathEats says
The consensus now seems to be 100-200 mg is fine, but I still mostly stick to decaf so I can have multiple mugs when I’m out. I still drink black tea though
Erin says
I drank a cup of coffee most mornings when I was pregnant. I ended up glad I did. When you really need the coffee is after the baby is born, and the nurse told me it wouldn’t affect the baby as a breastfeeding mom, especially since I had been drinking it while pregnant.
Elisabeth says
They blocked Netflix?!? Weird!
Maria@ Sinfully Nutritious says
What a lovely buffet. Fruit is such a refreshing treat. I can smell the coffee through the computer. Coffee is just about my favorite thing in world, so I have to limit myself to 1 or two cups a day. I remember during my first trimester it did not appeal at all to me. Then, all of a sudden at 13 weeks, it smelled like heaven again. I used to drink 1/2 cup caffeinated a day when I was pregnant. I used to make 2 small cups a day 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf. It is so funny how you can find a good study or a bad study on just about anything. Go with your gut and enjoy every minute of your pregnancy!
ash says
Muffin on the oatmeal. Doesn’t it get soggy? Is it good that way or just for added fiber?
KathEats says
A little soggy but I love the texture contrast
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
Have a fun day!!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Mmm I’d be all over that fresh fruit!!! Looks like a great breakfast – enough to make up for the Internet troubles! 😉 Have a great afternoon Kath!
Sandy says
I would think GH should pay you for the great advertising. I’m thinking that all of your readers have begun to look for GH in their area and were completely unaware of it before.

Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
Love all the fruit options! Oatmeal is one of those breakfast options you can always rely on! Even better when there are mulitple toppings to choose from! Looks delish!
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
That breakfast bar looks like heaven! My husband lived in SD for 6 months for a work assignment years ago and I showed him a photo of your hotel. He was very jealous! We definitely need to make it there someday. 🙂

I live in San Diego & love it here. I am so glad you got to visit. I love reading your blog & just wanted to say hi.
The food and beer in San Diego is exceptional! There are so many micro-breweries to check out (Hess Brewing is one of my favorites!). North park has amazing food, my fav. spot to go: urban solace, urbn pizza & so many other great places. Enjoy your stay!

Netflix doesn’t work outside the US, so imagine my dismay after moving to Turkey 🙁 At least they lifted the YouTube ban!
Jane says
Did you ever finish reading The Postmistress? I’m on page 57 and it’s boring enough that I’m thinking of putting it down and starting another book.
KathEats says
Didn’t like it at all
Kerry @ Totes My Oats says
Yum! All of that food looks great. Enjoy your day!
Lisa (bakebikeblog) says
wha a delicious breakfast spread!
Jules @ La Petite Maison Verte says
Ugh! I swear, more often than not the more expensive the hotel, the stingier they are with what is included in the price. That doesn’t change the fact that when given a choice of cheap hotel + free amenities or luxury hotel + a la carte amenities I will pretty much always choose the pricier option :-/ At least breakfast looks like it was tasty and fresh though 🙂
Jen says
I am such a sucker for hotel bran muffins. I know they are loaded with poor ingredients…but there’s something about “free” puffy muffins that I can’t pass up 🙂
Jasper Naomi @ crunchylittlebites says
