^^ Despite the umbrella, SPF 50 and breaks midday, we are all much more tan then when we arrived. We also had impeccable weather – it only rained once for 10 minutes!
We spent our days exercising in the morning….
Breakfast at 9…
Beach hanging from 10-1…
Lunching on whatever we could find and watching Survivor/movies from 1-3…. {vegetables were slim pickin’ towards the end of the week so I had a pickle with my quesadilla and grapes!}
And then we spent the rest of our afternoons on the beach…
5:30 meant showers and cocktail hour, which often involved appetizers like this:
It was a great trip!
Our evenings were filled with fresh seafood. We decided to cancel a second dinner out in favor of a crab night. Because how could we not!? Served with a salad.
Our final night we made fish tacos with a local catch – Amber Jack. Plus cabbage and yoga-mole.
After dinner Dad brought out a bag of tricks – superlatives for the trip with candy rewards.
I was awarded queen of pop music for the week – with Pop Rocks! It’s been like 15 years since I’ve had these!
Kiddo’s first candy buttons – for being cute as a button!
Dad gave himself an edible mustache that was quite a hit –
We are back in Cville and wishing you a happy week!

Hi kath! I’m going on vacation in a few weeks…curious how do you handle naps on vacation? I’m wondering if skipping them all together would be a recipe for disaster :/
KathEats says
M doesn’t nap anymore! When we went to the DR over Christmas last year he refused to nap the whole time and sleep was a total disaster. By the end of the week he was soooo cranky….so I’d try to keep up the napping if you can!
Samantha says

Do you have any tips for vacationing with family? My husband, son, and I took a trip with my mom this year and we nearly went bananas. Never again!
KathEats says
We luckily haven’t had many problems getting along! Wish I had more advice.

Looks wonderful…all of it. Where did you go?
Linda @ The Fitty says
Tell me about the tan, haha 🙂 I am in china and the tan is for reals. I feel like I’m 10 times darker coming back than I was coming in.

Just curious, is that an artichoke in with the crabs? I think I remember noticing one in your low-country boil as well. What is its purpose? Thank you!
KathEats says
Yes! Matt is really into them with seafood
