I hope I don’t disappoint you all by saying the only thing that happened last night was a 1.5-hour stretch of insomnia! I did some reading and eventually did go back to sleep.
Although there was this one time when I woke up and felt different – my torso felt different and kind of magnetic – but it must have just been a fluke because I don’t feel anything now!
Oatmeal for breakfast! Good old fashioned whipped banana oats with Cville Cluster and Big Spoon peanut – almond on top.
Pumpkin pumpin’ in the raspberry leaf!
I didn’t know it was supposed to rain here today
But hopefully that means a cold front is on the way. Hey – and a change of barometric pressure! Maybe that will be on my side : ) Whole day ahead!
nicole says
Oh momma it will happen soon. The waiting game can be just as exciting as it is frustrating. One of mine was 10 days late. At that point I didn’t care if he didn’t come out but he did. 🙂 I’m sending you labor vibes!
Becca says
Sorry, I’m slow… but what does the +1 refer to?
I did gasp when I read the title, thinking your family was now +1, hehe. Not your fault, though: all of us eager readers will find a way to interpret every title as a ‘baby is here title’.
KathEats says
+1 day!
Molly @ RDexposed says
You tricked me with this one!!
Lauren says
Ahhh, you got me! I thought this could be it. Girl, I am on the edge of my seat for you. 🙂 Hope you are staying relaxed and comfortable in this home stretch! <3 xoxo
KathEats says
Guess that was a misleading title!!
Caroline says
It feels like every blog post is like Christmas Eve as a kid! Cant wait for it to be morning!
Khushboo says
Totally thought baby had been born!!
KathEats says
Sorry!!!! I’ve tried to keep my titles neutral! Didn’t think enough about this one!
Karen says
You got me too with that title! Your little one is apparently set on teaching you patience before he even arrives. Soon enough.
We’ve got a rainy Saturday ahead too – all the better for a full day of errand running and organizing and cooking.
Hang in there, my friend!
Emily @ Life on Food says
Soon, soon. I love that towel. Cute and unique design.
Brittany says
Come on baby!!! 😉
Missy says
I don’t comment much Kath, but OMG I am so excited for you! I’m on vacation right now and I find myself checking your blog on my phone to see if your little guy has arrived yet! What an exciting time for you!!!
Laurie says
I love the titles! Don’t mind the teases 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you title the real thing
KarenB says
I was hoping you would have a labor filled day yesterday! But you had an activity filled day, so that is good as well! I love how you keep doing things and enjoying every minute of your pre-baby time. I never went over my due date, so I have no idea how it feels! The concept of walking to stimulate labor doesn’t seem to apply to you, so more drastic measures may need to be explored 🙂
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
It’ll happen when he’s ready. Just relax and let the little guy simmer until he’s done. 🙂 It won’t be long.
Kate says
Haha I thought the +1 was referring to the ability to “+1” websites you like when searching on Google. At work, we commonly respond “+1” to emails/ideas that we like as a way of saying “me too.”
Also, September is definitely the best month to be born…not that I’m biased or anything 😉
marnie says
i love how the first thing i check over my own business page, the weather, emails…is YOUR PROGRESS!! i am getting so excited for you!
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
I have been wondering if I’d see a post from you this morning or not…I wish for your sake you weren’t posting and were busy pushing 🙂 Sooon!!
Crystal says
I love your whipped banana oatmeal! How much cottage cheese do you put in it? And the recipe that you use 1/3 oats and 1/3 soy milk is that 1 serving of oatmeal? Thanks for the info! I love your blog!
KathEats says
Usually about 1/3 a cup, which I stir in at the very end of cooking. And yes, 1/3 cup across the board for 1 serving! (Because I usually add toppings too – without the toppings I’d use 1/2 cup)
Audrey says
good luck! I’ve been checking your blog multiple times a day to see if the baby has come yet 🙂
Katie says
My daughter was due on Halloween and after two days of not feeling much different and not being dilated, I remember waking up on the morning of November 3 with that “different” feeling. Ikept busy during the day with laundy, dishes, reorganizing the baby’s room, repacking the hospital bag, started feeling contractions late afternoon, left for the hospital at 6, dilated 1/2 cm at 6:30 and was holding Claire at 8:03. The good news is he will come when he is ready, the bad news is it is hard to wait especially when I wanted every single dish and clothing item clean and put away. Keep busy today, have fun and relax today. Just convince yourself that he is definitely not coming today and he will prove you wrong! He’s just preparing you for the world of unpredictable children, mine are 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 and definitely keep me busy and challenged in a good way!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
Haha I think you need to back and get a refund on those cupcakes! Lol or just buy a few more!
KathEats says
Haha. More would be tasty!
Stef says
I love that mug! Super cute.
Cyn says
Here’s a positive….your little guy will most likely be able to celebrate his birthday at school with his classmates. As the mom of an August baby (now 20!) that was always a big deal.
Also thanks for the tomato sauce recipe-a delicious way to use my garden tomatoes!
Sending good thoughts your way!
Christine says
You’re almost there! I hope you got your foot massage in last night. Other labor-inducing foods are pineapple and licorice. No clue why!
KathEats says
I got that massage…maybe it wasn’t long enough!

Hi Kath, I too have been checking your blog several times daily to see if your big day has finally arrived. I have never written before but have been following your blog for about two years. I joke with my husband about how creepy it is that I know what you’ve had for breakfast every morning for the last two years but you have no idea who I am 🙂 I am new(ish) to the blogosphere so it’s strange to me. I decided to write today thinking perhaps you could use just a bit more distraction. Yours was the first and is the only (besides Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point) blog that I visit regularly and I would like you to know how much joy it brings to my life. I am a runner and try to eat healthy and love the new ideas you bring to the menu in our household. I’m also grateful for the way you share whats going on in your life so openly and the positive outlook you keep.
I just wanted you to know there is one more (of many, I’m sure) person who appreciates what you do and is cheering for you during this exciting time.
Wishing all good things for you and your family.
Trula
KathEats says
Thanks Trula!
Annette @FitnessPerks says
I thought the title was +1 person too! 😉 hah.
polly says

I totally got the title. Maybe because I’ve been there myself?
BTW – I finally tried grilling okra last night. Holy Moly that was good stuff.
Lorin says
SO much for that lemon drop 🙂
KathEats says

Kim Eats Junk Food says
Magnetic torso is a pregnancy symptom I have yet to experience…
sounds bionic.
McKenzie Morgan says
Have you tried (this is going to be awkward) but nipple stimulation? My mother said to tell you this.
KathEats says
Haha I love that your mom told you to say that 🙂 I haven’t really tired it vigorously – I’m not sure if it’s that proven to really induce. I think it might be better off as a labor enhancer!?
Susan E says
I knew exactly what you meant writing +1 because you are counting the days.:-). There was a rough estimate for my due dates, and for my first I was five days late & second child six days early. Just in case you have to rush/hurry to hospital because baby is coming out, do not worry about your bag in car except for grabbing camera or camera cell phone. For my 2nd baby, his head was showing as I sat down on the bed & I had a preciptious labor & delivery. My hubby rushed to park & them wheel me in elevator me & left camera in the car.:-( I have no pre-birth photos, no photo of baby shown to me when first born, or cutting of the cord.:-(.
Cait's Plate says
Maybe baby felt like he’d get overshadowed by Karen’s birthday and so he’s waiting to have it the day after hers 🙂
Jennifer says
I totally thought baby was here and gasped!!!
Amy @ amy loves food says
You have your due date in your mind for so long that when it passes it feels really strange, i went in to labour at +4 and delivered on +5… mine all started with a bad case of vomiting in the early hours of +4 and then i had period type cramps all day, regular and often and then at 5pm just as my husband walked in from work i went into full blown labour!
Good Luck Kath, waiting is horrible because you must feel more than ready to deliver, the only bit of advice i can give you is REST, REST & REST SOME MORE!!! You will appreciate the extra energy during labour, especially if you go through the night (like me!) and also, sleep gets less and less when baby arrives x
Stephanie says
I need to try those whipped banana oats! I’ve done something similar with my attempt at paleo oatmeal, but I need to follow your tutorial soon!

It was hot & humid here today as well, & now it is raining! I hope the rain cools things off!

Hi Kath-we had my daughter’s baby shower this weekend(due: Nov 16) and afterwards I said I’ve got to go check my “friend’s” blog to see if her baby has come. All three of my girls laughed at me for calling you my “friend”. Good Luck and hope you get to meet him soon!
KathEats says
We are friends! 🙂
