Hi from many feet above Kansas!!
GOGO Internet makes me so happy. Although my netbook battery does not! I’m already halfway through it and we have so many hours left. I’m also kind of claustrophobic over here in the window seat, and my back needs lumbar support! I’m kind of sickly feeling from not moving.
Just got delivered a bubbly club soda though – hope that helps!
One of my major goals in life is to be an organized and most importantly concise traveler. Now that I have a wheeled bag, that helps a ton. I’m no longer lugging things around (esp. since I travel with a giant camera and laptop at all times). My tote today gets an A- for organization!
Electronics pouch, computer, camera, book in the back
Make up bag with essentials, snack bag and water bottle in the front
Wallet, phone, boarding pass in the zip front
Also, my shirt, sweater and wallet match!!
Here are all of the snacks I packed for my trip
Karen took me by Whole Foods on the way to the airport. I got a smallish salad to have for lunch. My plane from Cville to Philly was TINY and I just couldn’t get my camera out to photograph it, but you all know what a Whole Foods salad looks like! Highlight was coconut curry tofu cubes!
I found this in Philly along with a spotty internet connection and four BlogHers!!
I mixed the yogurt with some of my dried fruit + raw granola from my snack bag
I overheard two girls saying the B-word (blog) and went over to introduce myself. The best part of BlogHer is meeting so many people who "get" the blog world. Instant friends.
I’ve got a sandwich to have for dinner later – cucumbers, mashed black beans, Pumpkin Chipotle pesto
And fruits if I need one for dessert
Upon my arrival sweet Tammy is picking me up from the airport and then I’m meeting more KERF friends for a waterfront walk! Oh, and perhaps my first taste of Pinkberry!?
Hoping to push Publish and close my eyes and when I open them I’m there…
Stephanie says
I don’t care how many frozen yogurt shops there are in the world, Pinkberry will always be worth the 4 hour drive for me.
Hopefully you do get a taste; it’s life changing.
Kelsey B. says
Omg! I work at one of the Pinkberry locations in San Diego! I think I’d faint if you came in, though, haha. You’re one of my blogging idols. :]
And, I work tomorrow! If you arrive before 4pm tomorrow, you should definitely come on down to the Pinkberry in Hillcrest. The yogurt is definitelyyy worth checking out; the plain tart is amazing. (Gosh, could I sound like anymore of an enthusiastic employee? Ugh, haha)
Regardless, I hope you enjoy San Diego! I know I love this city a lot.
KathEats says
haha – we were at the one downtown near the Marriott. I don’t think Hillcrest is walking distance?
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says
Airplane internet is phenomenal. 😀 Lovin the oats in a pack that you packed

I’m normally not a Pinkberry fan, but they have a salted caramel flavor that I’ve been dying to try! You should go to Yogurtland- it’s the best!

Just had Pinkberry for the first time last week and already made a trip back!! Too bad it’s 45 min trip from my side of Atlanta!! Can’t wait to enjoy your trip with you!! LOVE…LOVE..LOVE your blog and whole bakery story!!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Can’t wait to see you!
Text or call if you need anything. I’ll be right around the corner at another blogger event. Busy day for me!
And I flew home last night from my photography/blogger conference and there’s no free wifi on Southwest, I am ALWAYS sandwiched in the middle seat no matter what, someone is always invading my space, the armrest, snoring in my ear, or jabbering in it…traveling. Glamorous, right?
🙂
Donna @ Life of a Happy Blonde says
Love the matching tops 🙂
Have a blast and defintely get some pinkberry!
Shayla @ The Good Life says

I’m on a flight using GoGo right now too, currently over Lake Michigan flying home from Seattle. Are you on Delta? It’s free this month from a Diet Coke sponorship and that totally made my trip 🙂
Enjoy the pinkberry, jealous!
KathEats says
OMG – waving through the clouds!!!!!
Lucky you on Delta – eat some Biscoff for me!!
Baking N Books says
“Waving through the clouds” – what a cute (and happy) image 🙂
I haven’t been on a plane forever. I’d love to kick back with a movie and airplane food – yep, I don’t care what it is – just to be up and going anywhere but here!
I love that purple bag.
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I went to BlogHer Food and it felt so good to feel normal about saying the word blog out loud. Have fun Kath.

Love being an organized traveler as well. Big bags are so useful for traveling like this. Hope you arrive safe and sound and well rested. Have fun!
Emily@SavoryandSavage says
Have a fun and safe trip!!
Cait's Plate says
I’d say you get more than an A- for organization! You should see my bag when I travel. I would love to be a minimalist but there are just way too many things for me to bring – you make it look easy.
I had a sandwich for dinner also – it’s a perfect traveling meal.
Safe travels and hopefully you do get that Pinkberry – I’ve actually never had it either come to think of it…
Lauren @ HeyLo says
woo! coming to my side of town! I second yogurt land! Also, I did try the salted caramel pinkberry flavor and loved it 🙂 The weather is beautiful too! Have fun
Sara says
My daughter and I always take our own food when we travel – even if it is just a day trip. Seems to be a common denominator with a certain type of food community.
Sophie says
I can’t wait to hear about your 1st trip to Pinkberry. “Knowing” you from your blog, I’d suggest you try the original flavor with fruit/chocolate on top. The original is tangy-er and less sweet than the other flavors. And you don’t strike me as a super-sweet kind of gal (as far as your tastebuds go!!. You are obviously quite sweet personality-wise!!).
Pinkberry came to Harvard Square (where I work) this spring. A happy day for me!!
KathEats says
I liked the tart, but the caramel enticed me!!
Hannah says
Oh, what wonderful road-trip food! Just needs some chocolate 😀
Paige says
I think you’re probably the most organized person I know! It’s pretty awesome.
However, I will never began organized traveler. But that’s ok with me! I thrive on the chaos and spontaneity of traveling I guess 🙂
Namaste Gurl says
Hope you have safe travels to CA! 🙂 Wish you would come visit me in Santa Cruz, hehe.
The one thing I absolutely despise about traveling: the food part. Yuck. I hate reverting to bars and nuts for meals.
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Have a fun time! I’ve never been to a blogging event, but it must be so fun to talk with other people who understand the blog world!
kaila @ healthyhelper says
Snacks are always my favorite thing to pack for a trip! Looks like ya got some good stuff!
Carly @ YourWayMyWay says
You are the best organizer!! I love your bag and your wallet! Can I ask where you got them from…I would love to copy!
KathEats says
The bag is Target and the wallet is TJ Maxx!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Safe travels!! Love the matching outfit, too. I’m never that cute when traveling..I pretty much look like I just rolled out of bed the entire time.
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
I loved your post title because i just read the book SIsterhood Everlasting, which is the ending of the Traveling Pants series! 🙂
Margo @ peanut butter trees says
Hope the rest of the flight went well! Long flights are always a bit tough to get through, even with lots of snacks and entertainment on the computer!
Ali @ Peaches and Football says
I don’t know… I’d give that purse an A+ for organization. I could use some more organization myself. Lack of time means a chaotic mess with stuff quickly thrown in random pockets and pouches.
enjoy your trip – I hope you have a great time!
Jillian says
So funny- for some reason, I thought that was your *leg* at first glance in that pic, and suddenly I was all “ohhhh, *that’s* what the title is about…what happened to Kath’s PANTS?!”
Duh :p
Ash @ Good Taste Healthy Me says
Your tote is super organized. Love the snacks you brought too!
Sof says
Hi Kath,
Random question–What kind of netbook do you have? Do you like it? I have a blog too and want to start writing a book, so I just went to buy a new computer (mine broke, so I currently share one with my boyfriend). I was set on a netbook, after all, I just needed word on it. But, then I was convinced to pay a “little extra” to get an HP (regular) laptop.
But, I am still not convinced…it’s still in the box. Suggestions? Is a netbook too basic?
Thanks and have a great time!
KathEats says
I have a HP netbook and LOVE it. It’s not the fastest but the portability is GREAT. Mine is from Costco and was about $320 two years ago
Katy @ notjustacarnivore says
If this is an A-, what in the world does an A+ bag look like?
Enjoy BlogHer! Can’t wait to read about it!
Katie says
You are much more organized than I am when traveling! I need to take some tips from you 🙂
I hope you get to visit Pinkberry! I love it! We finally just got one here in Chicago.

Awesome organization for traveling, I’m still getting used to traveling with a huge camera. Great snack pack. Can’t wait to hear more about the trip!
Lexi @ A Spoonful of Sunshine says
Mmmm I love packing snack bags for trips. It makes me feel like a champ once I see airlines charging $9 for salted nuts and the tiniest hunk of cheese EVER. Haha okay, maybe I’m easily excited 🙂
Aine @ Something to Chew Over says
Safe trip!
Linda says
Where did you get that packet of almond butter? It looks great for traveling.
Cathy says
Wal Mart sells packets of almond butter. So does whole foods. Hope this helps.
