Until I got to the car place 🙁
Kelsey and I showered to look presentable and then she went on her way. I spent some time with Middlesex and then made a quick leftovers lunch before heading uptown to take my car to be examined. It’s been making a funny noise in the tires
I know this is my FOURTH Mexican meal in 7 days, but the cuisine is just the best!
I piled a bunch of veggies and leftovers on a very unhealthy tortilla leftover from the beach trip. Peppers, cucumber, corn, black beans, corn salsa, cilantro, 2 tbsp brown rice, and fiesta cheese.
Leftover filling –
Eaten with a few chips
Once at the car place I got the bad news that I needed new back tires. They were all worn, most likely an alignment problem. He showed me the underside of Marge (my car) – how embarrassing for her!
Kelsey, my hero, picked me up so I wouldn’t have to wait at the car place and we are now at Caribou enjoying a hot beverage and our books.
I got Mango black tea. We’ll be waiting for the car place to give me a buzz to go pick Marge back up.
I had planned to do some fun cardio class for a workout tonight, but Karen is coming for dinner and it’s raining, so right now I’m leaning towards skipping it.
Adios!
Laura (On the Threshold of Greatness) says
I feel your pain. I hate car repairs, and tires cost an arm and a leg!
Your Mexican meal looks great! I agree, it’s one of the best cuisines out there. 🙂
JENNA says
I just love Mexican meals! I could eat taco saldas everyday!! 🙂 And don’t even get me started on chips and salsa.
Victoria says
I don’t blame you. I’ve been loving on some Mexican inspired salads recently too. I think the weather’s making me do it. Bummer about new tires, but maintenance like that is generally cheaper than waiting until it causes a bigger problem.
Melissa @ For the Love of Health says

That’s too bad about your car! Better safe than sorry though! 🙂
Holly says

Poor Marge. I too have had an alignment problem, but mine has been far more costly 😉
Chris never gets sick of Mexican food, though I’m about a once per week girl myself.
Bec says
That sucks about your car, but hopefully it will be running smoothly soon 🙂 How are you liking middle sex, it took me a while to actually finish it since school was getting in the way but in the end it was a pretty good read.
Kay says
I’m curious: What made this tortilla unhealthy? Was it the white flour?
Brittany says
I heart mexican food, right know my wholefoods has a vegan mexican bar. SO BEYOND YUMMY, I had to take Mia, (jeep cherokee) aka missing in action, to the doc’s a lot when I first got her. She has been renamed cinnimon, cause she’s sweet and spicy.
Heather says
Augh, sorry to hear about the car trouble. I just hate having to put extra money into something somewhat unexpected like a car emergency. What kind of car do you drive?
Mmm… I love the addition of the brown rice to your Mexican fiesta! Such a yummy and healthy burrito ingredient!
Gotta love Caribou Coffee! 😀

Christina says
I could eat Mexican food every day, it’s that good!
Sorry about your car :/
Hangry Pants says
That is sad about Marge!
How do you get all these emoticons. They are hilarious. It reminds me of a children’s book where they put in the picture instead of the word.
Also, what do you think of Middlesex. I had to read it for my book club and I could not get through it!
Ellen @ Peace in Motion says
Mexican food is just too good!
Kath says
Kay ,
That would be the shortening, i.e. trans-fats. There’s nothing wrong with white flour! But whole wheat is better. Trans-fats, however, are proven to be bad for health.
Heather,
Honda Accord.
Hangry Pants,
I copy them from Gmail 🙂

Elizabeth says
Yay – Mexican food is the *best*. Sort of makes up for PITA car troubles. 😉
eatavegan says
That is so weird — my first car’s name was Marge! She died, though, sadly. But good times were had!
I think definitely go with the smaller print — it’s modern and elegant at the same time and looks beautiful with the chair frame!
Jordan says
I’ve been meaning to read that book..
Hangry Pants says
Ohhhhhh! I can do that – what fun! Thanks.
Lynne says
I loved the pics of the Mexican food. I always have tortillas on hand, and make quesadillas for my grandchildren frequently. I can wrap up lots of stuff into a tortilla for a quick snack, or use those same ingredients (leftovers) and fold them into an omelet.
