Good afternooooon! This day is just whizzing by – in a very productive way!
Before lunch, I had exercise company when my friend Sarah joined me for a walk! School is out for the summer! We had a long talk about technology (post on new advancements coming!) and books and the hour flew by.
Sarah brought me some of her latest creation – Cookie Dough Nutty Butter! You never know what nut butter she will invent next : ) [Edited to add: More info on how to get your hands on it in the comments – unfortunately it’s a secret recipe]
Stuff is GOOD! So of course I had to have it for lunch.
I made a CDNB & JATD [Jam According to Daniel : ) ] on toasted sourdough – delish!!
Enjoyed a watermelon and mint salad (Sarah reminded me I need to use my mint!)
And amped up the protein with about 2/3 a cup of cottage cheese topped with a little coconut sprinkle.
All in all, filling and gooood!

Cookie dough nut butter? Holy cow that sounds amazing… and a little dangerous.
Does she have a recipe for that?

She didn’t post the recipe on the website. That looks delicious!
KathEats says

Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
There is a page on my blog about how to order some. The recipe is a bit of a secret, but it’s a base of three nuts (cashews, almonds, peanuts).

Sarah – I’m interested in buying but wondering if you have any (estimated) health stats. I know it’s homemade so they won’t be exact but just wondering.

Hi Kath- What brand of cottage cheese do you buy? I haven’t found one I like…it’s a texture thing with me – can’t be too ‘creamy’…Thanks!
KathEats says
Whole Foods Low-Fat Organic – I’m picky about my CC and love this one!
Farah says
Thanks! I’ll check it out – though going into Whole Foods is always dangerous with me. I live right across the street form one, and always walk out with way more than I’d planned on buying … oops!
Jamie @ StudioEats says
Looks like an awesome lunch! I love adding coconut to random things.
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says

Lace @ Real Food Quest says
Cottage cheese is a hard one for me. Is there a brand/type you suggest?
KathEats says
I love the Whole Foods low-fat organic. I’m picky and hate fat-free CC and like it to be just the right amount of cream + curds

I noticed that you haven’t been using your stainless steel straws anymore. Did you have a problem with them. I was thinking about getting me a set but not sure now. By the way I really enjoy your blog.
KathEats says
Nope, just swap back and forth each week (I use one about a week and then either wash the stainless or throw away the plastic)
