KERF has always been about sharing real meals with you guys, and that’s why these posts remain my favorite! I wish I could figure out a way to get back to recapping a meal right after enjoying it like I used to, but a part of me would feel guilty “just” putting up 3 photos of my dinner and chatting about the afternoon. I know so many of you loved that style. How do you feel about it now? (P.S. I’ve been eating all the raw oysters this summer!)
Breakfasts have been a mixed bunch of smoothies, oatmeal, pancakes, and eggs lately. All my favorites!
Overnight oats with banana and almond butter:
Homemade quinoa granola over yogurt with blueberries and peach. (Recipe coming!)
My favorite lunch these days is a kale salad with leftovers on top and buf cheese! This one had rotisserie chicken and sweet potatoes too.
Leftover pizza, pesto kale, and a peach.
Empty-fridge day meant cucumbers with a cheese and kale quesadilla…
And lunch at Roots!! That BBQ tofu is the best.
I made my chicken and bean bake recipe and had that for dinner twice. This time I put in artichoke quarters –SO, SO good! I’ll never make it without them again!
Dinner at Timberwood Grill after soccer. Fish tacos!! I had had a mini dinner before our 7:00 p.m. game, so I ate one of these and shared with a hungry teammate. #onetaco 😉
And lastly, dinner in a jar by the pool! I layered Anne’s Creamy Vegan Dressing with white beans, kale and Manchego cheese and had that with fresh cherries for dinner. (More on this tomorrow!)
Have a great rest of your week!

Egg breakfasts are my fave! So many yummy eats!
Kelli @ Hungry Hobby says
Yum yum your meals always look so darn delicious it makes want to add more variety in the queen of eggs or protein shake in the morning every morning!
Kate says
Granola has been on my brain for the past few days, so I am excited for you to share the recipe!
And now I must have fish tacos for dinner!

I always get McDonald’s ads all over your pictures and the bottom of the screen when I visit here. Seems kind of counterintuitive to the purpose of your blog?
KathEats says
The ads that show are often based on your browsing history (not that you searched for McDs but somehow the ad server thinks you’d like it!) I’m sure that’s far from the truth if you’re coming here, but that’s my round-about way of saying that it’s not me choosing the brands!
Stephanie says
Ah ok, yes McDonald’s is far from my lists of interests, but it makes sense. Thanks!
KathEats says
It could be as simple as Target.com = McD’s ad customer. Sucks I know!

Rotisserie chicken is my favourite food in the whole entire world. Hands down 🙂
Sara says
I would love to see blog posts in your “old” style, even if it is occasional.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I haven’t had oysters in ages – this makes me miss the oyster roasts in Charleston!
Lauren says
I would love to see more posts in your old format! That was my favorite! I loved just seeing your daily meals and getting ideas and also hearing what’s going on in your life.
nickee says
Me too!! Loved the old style – I get excited every time you post your eats even now 🙂
Jessica says
Don’t feel guilty! I love that style of posting best. A little food, a lot real life stuff.
Amanda says
Those fish tacos look so good! Definitely putting them on my menu this week!
Amanda says
Loving the oysters too! I haven’t had them nearly as often as I usually do, though. And those fish tacos looks delicious! I ‘m a huge fish taco fan 🙂
Kelly says
I love the old meal/life update posts!
teresa says
Omg, I’m having a scheduled C in less than 2 weeks, and I CANNOT WAIT to eat some raw oysters super soon! That first picture literally had me drooling!
I’m sure the Lately posts are easier for you, and being a full-time Mom isn’t easy so I get it, but I do miss the old style. I’m a loyal reader regardless, but I don’t get as much out of your meals by just scrolling through the Lately posts as much as I enjoyed the daily posts from years ago of individual meals. Maybe just a morning post of what you ate the day before?
Catherine says
It is so funny you mentioned your old format because in the last week I was looking for a recipe and started reading posts from 2012 and thought how much I miss your old way of blogging. I still read daily, but what I have gotten most from your blog is how to eat healthy on a daily basis, how you balance, etc. This new format still gives that to an extent, but seeing how you throw together healthy meals on a weekday was so helpful.
Sam @ Barrister's Beet says
Thanks for sharing some of your meals as of late. That pasta bake looks awesome – and artichokes sound like a great idea. Happy Wednesday!

I love your old style blog posts!
Linda @ The Fitty says
For raw oysters are you supposed to slurp them down without chewing?
KathEats says
I chew!!
Linda @ The Fitty says
Does it taste good when you chew it?
KathEats says
Yessss
Imogen says
Oh! Where did you have those oysters? I visiting Charlottesville later this summer and those look delicious!
KathEats says
Check out Public Fish and Oyster or Rocksalt!
Kathy W. says
voting for the original style! It was fun & somehow energizing to see the highlights of your day, both food & activities. And, of course, loved the cleaning/decorating/house stuff!
Amy says
I suggest you mix it up, sometimes old style, and sometimes this way. Both are great as long as you’re blogging about your meals. (I much prefer the food posts to when you branch off.) That way you can do whatever you feel! 🙂
JEN says
I loved the old style of blogging daily meals the best. I was more compelled to look at your blog daily for inspiration whereas now I just check in once in a while.
Fancy says
Oh PLEASE go back to the way you used to blog! I loved seeing your meals and life in real time…it was so inspirational to see how you managed your healthy lifestyle. (Also…I vote to bring back Home Neat Home posts)! Your blog has always been my favorite…but I liked your old way of blogging SO much more than this way. Please go back!!!
Molly B says
I love both ways. I’ve been reading for seven years and still go first to your blog before checking any others.
Totally none of our business but I can’t help wondering which of these dinners out are date nights 😉 bet you’re in high demand! (I know…’none of my business…).
Thanks for another beautiful post.
